As many of you know I bought a "Stand-in" Miata to hold me off until I get the Smurf back in working order.
This Miata a '94 A package was black on black. The black paint was not pealing but had started to get milky in some areas.
Specifically on the center of the hood right by the bulge, and just before the gas cap and on the gas cap. It also had a good amount of small pits and light scratches.
I was really thinking that I would need to get the car repainted if I keep it too much longer,
Tampa Bay Miata's decided to join up with Team Extreme and put our cars in the Precision Mazda Car Show.
So... not wanting to put a paint faded car out in a show I decided to try This Turtle Wax Stuff..

This is a 4 part process.
1. Rub on the Cleaner / Polish (Straight Strokes not circular) and let dry
2. Remove the Cleaner / Polish using a light mist of the Detailer spray and quite a bit of polishing.
3. Rub on the Carnauba wax (Straight Strokes not circular) and let dry
4. Remove the Wax using again a light Mist of the Detailer spray and quite a bit of polishing.
They warn you to wear gloves... Do It!
All three of the solutions have a black coloration to them.
You can also do this with a buffer. I choose not to.
The results were amazing. At least 4 people commented on the paint and asked me if it was a repaint.
One guy said that it looked much deeper than normal Miata paint.
So here are some pictures:
