Anybody use one of these? How well does it fit? I'm thinking it must last longer than the TDR insulating blanket since it maintains an air gap and is made of stainless steel.

Doesn't stainless steel turn into stainable steel with that kind of heat tho?

Hmmm.... Found this old classified ad NA Parts CORNS! Polished Exhaust Manifold Cover (http://clubroadster.net/vb_forum/28-sale-trade/56366-corns-polished-exhaust-manifold-cover.html) where Radiohead says it did not fit over his Racing Beat headers. Car Make Corn's says it fits NA and NB, B6 and BP so I'm not sure what the problem is. Can anyone confirm fitment?

I'm sure it turn a nice golden brown color with time. I'm not so much worried about cosmetics as I am about thermal management. Just wondering if this is a decent heat shield for those of us with aftermarket tubular exhaust manifolds.

this isn't for the same product, but i have a feeling the fitment is similar if not the same.

I asked Bill at Miataroadster some time last year if the Jass Performance header heat shield fits over the Racing Beat headers and he replied that it doesn't, only the stock headers.

Probably only works with a Corn's Header :?

I think maybe I will end up fabricating something similar that will work with the RB header that connects at the head flange and maybe the shelf where the stock air box used to reside. Or maybe I'll just get the TDR blanket and replace it as necessary.

I have just installed this same heat shield on my 96 miata with a Jackson Racing header and it fits just fine. I don't know if there is a huge difference with the RB header and the JR header (guess I should have checked when I had them both sitting in my garage).

The heat shield does vibrate a little bit while idling only when it is idling rough, aside from that it stays pretty still. As you can see on the last picture there is a bit of clearance from the JR header and the shield. I have driven with it for about a day and I have gone on the freeway a few times and have not heard any contact with the shield and the header while driving. So I would expect the shield would fit with the RB header as well, but don't take my word for it.

I have one of these and they fit fine over my Racing Beat Header.

same. i'd imagine it would fit over any header cause you literally form it by hand. it was a lil bit tight though.

good to know that the heat shield fits on the Jackson Racing headers; looks good!
