View Full Version : 2001 SE top color question
Well I was driving back from a reunion in Georgia when the top on my 2001 SE model Miata ripped out a good two foot section. Needless to say I need a new top but I'm having a lot of trouble finding the color that came with the car. I think it's different from the tan and I read somewhere that it was a beige, any truth to this?

from my understanding, na has a dark tan and the nb has a tan called saddle. here is a comparison 11967 i think the 10ae is the only special colored nb top but i may be wrong

Good grief, well looking at that picture my car doesn't really look that bad! But Golden Stallion, is there a way to find the part number for the top and figure out whether it is the NB or the NA style of tops. I would hate to spend this much money on the wrong color.

Yeah my pic was only for the color, the top was relatively new.........
Well it gives me something to compare it to, but I'm still having issues finding the color code for a stay fast canvas top. I don't believe it's the tan and the sadle still looks a bit too dark. Though I may be mistaken.

Damn Anthony! What happened?
I don't think the color will matter that much. Buy a top that you like and call it a day. My car has had 3 different tops on 4 years, so most Miatas have had new tops by now.

I'm pretty sure the 2001SE is the normal NB "light tan"

http://www.mossmiata.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=78162 in the choices, it says 90-97 tan and 99-05 tan. You want the 99-05 saddle tan. Don't need that specific top but just gives you an idea on what to look for. I really don't know if anyone care though. It seems that they don't make dark tan stay fast canvas and I see many NAs with the nb tan top with their dark tan interior.

It was only a parts car I picked up.

Ive heard "beige" used in the NB color vocab as well. Not sure if you've seen the option anywhere. Also for the price of a new top and installation, maybe a hardtop should be in your future. It would be that much more.
