We just finished the new mounting tabs for our NB full and 1/2 height blanking and gauge plates. The new design is a one piece component integral with the back plate.

It is more robust ,mounts very simply to the dash with Christmas Tree panel fasteners.

And it disappears when the surround trim is attached. Here are a few pictures.
