I recently bought a 1991 Mazda Miata with 59k but as soon as we showed up back at my house, we noticed a rattling that i looked up on a different discussion, but also that the airbag light was blinking, and two days later it's still blinking away. I'm planning to check out the airbag sensor, but that is the only thing i can think of to do. Any ideas?
Count the number of blinks:
Airbag Blink Codes
'90-'93
ON (no blink) Faulty diagnostic module or poor connection of diagnostic module connector
2 Poor ground of all D-sensors
3 Open Circuit or poor connection of power source circuit
4 Faulty S-sensor
5 Fault D-sensor (D-sensor remains ON)
6 Faulty air bag modules or poor connection of clock spring connector
7 Poor ground of wiring harness
8 Poor ground of D-sensor
9 Open circuit between diagnostic modules and D-sensor
10 Faulty diagnostic module (System-down fuse burned)
I got tired of looking and looking for the problem and stuck a piece of black vinyl on the bezel covering the damn blinking light. Not nearly as much stress on me now from worrying. ( Not the best choice but I did it anyway. )
Does the car have an aftermarket steering wheel?
