Hello, I'm new.
Hi there,
I am from the United Kingdom and I just found this site and figured I'd sign up for it as having a look over some threads there seems to be a alot of technical posts and posts about performance modifications rather than making the car really low.
I have a 1990 UKDM Mx-5 (I've also owned a few JDM models, and recently sold a silver 1990 Roadster).
Its currently off the road as I am trying to finish it but I am busy with College/uni work so its on the back burner for a while. I am however good at procrastinating so whilst I am supposed to be working I am mostly buying parts online.
The current spec is as below:
Engine:
1.6 ‘Mazdaspeed/M2-1001’ engine – Long crank
10:5:1 compression pistons
Head skim
256/8.5mm cams
Port polish
ILM engine mounts
ILM lightened flywheel 4kg
Racing beat 4-2-1 stainless manifold
Racing beat ‘race’ mid pipe
Decat/test pipe
Racing beat cat back exhaust, single exit
MS Labs MS2 basic with AFM delete
Drive train:
3.9 torsen from a mk2.5 sport, a bit too long for my liking.
5 speed box (want to change to 6 speed eventually)
Chassis:
Spax PSX shocks with adjustable damping
ILM 40% stiffer rubber bushes
ILM 40% stiffer drop links
Racing beat rear brace
ILM front brace
Cusco front strut brace
TR LANE ‘TD’ 4 point roll bar with single diagonal
TR LANE door bars
Exterior:
NR-A Enkei wheels in white
OEM front lip with Trackdog racing splitter attached
Front tow hook
Hardtop painted in Crystal white
Soft top delete
Interior:
Radio delete with radio blank
Tewiga white gear knob
Suede gear gaiter with black stitching
Sun visor delete with blank plates
Jass performance hardtop brackets
Boot has had sound proofing removed and repainted in gloss white
Interior has all sound proofing removed
Momo ‘Race’ steering wheel
I am currently installing my MS2 and the AIT kit, I want to retain the stock airbox though so I need to make up a faux AFM to drop in its place. I am using the 1.8 airbox top though as its not as restrictive as the sharp 90' bend and square outlet of the 1.6 airbox. I will also run a pipe directly from the airbox inlet into the window screen void as in the randall in take.
Long term plans are to treat myself to some Jenvey throttle bodies and then enjoy the car.
Some pictures, everyone loves pictures.

Thanks guys!
Adventure time is awesome and it is pretty big over here with young adults ( not that I am young!)
Been ordering parts for the interior this week, just litle parts like boots, ipod holder and stick extender, I will give the interior good clean and get a new picture up. It hasnt been cleaned for about 18 months whilst its been off the road.
I just got a job after being unemployed for the past 4 years (student!) so I finally can put some money into the car as all the modifications have been done on a rather tight budget due to limited savings.
I am thinking some gold RPF1's 14" +19 offset, some adjustable coilovers also. But first of all I need to get it legal!

a few years have passed by but the car is finally legal!

the spec is almost the same but during the past 5 years i parted her out a bit and bought an S class Mercedes which i got bored of and sold after a couple of years...
whats changed is i sold the roll bar, door bars and carbon parts.
i got some new wheels, Enkei ES Tarmac 15x7.5 et35 front and et 15 rear. they are made using the same matg tech as the rpf1 and as such weigh around the same.
also got a sparco ring 360 in suede which is a d cut wheel to help with leg space.
i got some new genuine mazda wings as in the uk they rust away at the bottom bolt.
i rebuilt and replaced all the steering components with moog upper ball joints etc.
