3th Annual TFMMC Summer Meet! Saturday July 14th, 2012

It's that time of year again so get your Mazda all cleaned up and head out to our meet!

As usual it will be held at the Sonic Drive-In in St. Cloud. Once everyone has had enough time to grab some lunch we will head over to a nearby park for hanging out, taking pictures and more! I have a few things to give away to the first few people who show up but if Mazda comes through and sends me more stuff I will have free stuff for everyone! There will also be a few awards handed out, nothing too special.. for the first meet I made up a few awards out of old junk parts and people seemed to enjoy them so I'll be making a few more of those.


Schedule is as follows:

12:30pm ~ Photos @ Partin Triangle Neighborhood Park - 2830 Neptune Road, Kissimmee

Dont know about that but i'll try and make everyones car look decent. Looks like i'll have a bunch of cars to try and shoot. Hopefully someone else is bringing a camera besides me.

How does meeting up at the Daytona International Speedway square (Plaza with bed bath and beyond, michaels, etc) sound? around 8:45-9:00 and we can head out around 9:10-9:15.

If you guys arent leaving Daytona until 9:30 , then your at least 20-25min away from my exit going 80mph and i'm almost 60 miles from sonic. That would put you there closer to 11am.

Attention failers: I spoke with the Sonic store manager today, he is more than happy to have us meeting there. The only issue is that they only have 36 parking spaces on their property and I don't want to cram everyone into their little space and leave no room for their normal Saturday lunch crowd so we will (as planned) be using the Wal-Mart parking lot.. only thing with that he said was I need to let the store manager at Wal-Mart know but they shouldn't have any problem with it. I tried calling today but she isn't in until tomorrow so I'll have an update on that tomorrow.

The Sonic store manager was also trying to talk me into coming monthly and giving us 15% off food at our monthly meets if we did so. I know the actual club is too spread out to do a monthly meet but I may just make a monthly meet for the local guys if they're interested. The other thing he mentioned was they do have power out by the Wal-Mart parking lot that we could use and do an even bigger meet next time! I really want to do some raffles, maybe have a few local sponsors and really have a nice big "palooza" type meet. Eric, I might have to speak with you about that kind of stuff sometime since I know you put together all the palooza meets we all miss going to. As long as everything goes as planned and there are no issues this Saturday I feel it will be much easier to get everything set up for next time so lets make this one a great one! :)

So if this turns out good (which I think it will) might have a few more of them (Not monthly due to how far some of us have to drive) but atleast 4-5 times a year.

I would think Wal-Mart would be happy to have 40 to 60 (same) cars in one location in their parking lot. It should bring attention to the store..meaning people stopping by just to see what's going on.

Cool, I know who to look for, Phatmiata. Tungsten6, I think your buddy John dug himself a hole. Its a lot to organize a meet this size. And it was only thought up as a Mazda meet with 10-20 cars, and not 60+. As for the monthly meet idea, it would be hard to get something going. He will need to spread the word around through different Mazda forums just to get the cars. I think a 3 different season meet would work better. Like a Spring, Summer and Fall meet. I won't include Winter since its too cold and i figure some of us will be planning the ski trip too. You could count this as a Team Fail All Mazda Summer Meet.

I have three Miatas. Green red and white.
The green(97) had tan interior and I liked it better so I swapped it into the red one since green is having problems and the red(90) is my DD. I just bought the white one(96) and it has black interior. I like the tan so I want to swap it. The white will be my new DD and I'll sell the red one. The red one is slammed and the white one is riding high. So two kill two birds with one stone(stock suspension will have more buyers interested in the car and I'll slam the white one) I'm going to be swapping the suspension.

We more than welcome the idea of 60+ cars (We all have Mazda's, the 4-5 original members have had multiples. We aren't just MS3, Miata, or Rotary fan boys like a good amount of owners are now)

I met a high level manager at the Mazda Dealership in Punta Gorda who suggested a Mazda Rally there. Maybe even at the Muscle Car Museum. Plenty of parking there.

Minuteman, I don't know about you in South Florida, but it does get cold some time in Central Florida and I hate cold. I rather be hot. I'm use to it. I can stand in 95+ weather, but if it drops below 65, then I finding myself a heater to stand by.

So long does everyone expect this event to go on till?

Biggest question is whats going on with the Park at noon after Sonic, are we still going to that or no?

I guess it's all about where you are from and the climate you were raised in. 65 degrees in winter would be a heat wave in the northeast.

Im only about 90 miles south of Tampa and the previous 2 winters we had frost. Cold only bothers me when it gets below and 32 degrees and stays there.

Ya, it all depends on who and where your from. I been racing since I was a kid, and I played in my Simpson fire suite. Try playing football in one of those. I know I did. We use to finish racing and get out and go play football right after racing for 30 laps or so. Last coupe of winter, I was able to freeze the water from the sprinkler system. Its was fun when you wake and the front yard is covered in ice. :mrgreen:

There is only about a 30% chance of thunderstorms for tomorrow and it doesn't look like we will see rain til sometime in the afternoon.

Just a heads up on the schedule.. since someone ask me..

We plan on staying at Sonic until at least 12:30.. I want to give everyone time to get there, see everything and hang out for a bit and get lunch. I also need time to walk around with the club members to figure out who we want to give the awards to and gather everyone up to hand them out. After all that you are welcome to ride over to the park (the address is in the first post) with us for photos, hanging out and whatever else you wanna do there.. bring a football, soccer ball or something to toss around if you want. I think the Central Florida Rotary Club is going to head out after a few pictures at the park because they have to be at a meet in Longwood by 3pm. You could follow them up there, hang out with us a bit longer or go home. We'll probably hang out at the park until 3pm.

I also got approval from Sonic today, they are more than happy to have us meeting there. Only thing that I ask of everyone is to give them some business and be well behaved at the meet, I would like to have an even bigger and better meet next time and that all starts with making a good impression this time. Last one for tonight I'm exhausted just like everyone else is. great photos Gerald, now I see why you guys all left Sonic's early, you want a Miata ONLY photo shoot! Good idea! Next time you'll have to let the other Miata guys know so we can get a bigger group shot with only Miatas

Uh,that was my idea for our run group ( Los Cinco Amigos ),nothing to do with all the Miatas.The rest just started showing up on their own,probably to beat the rush Sorry we didn't mean to leave anyone out.

Looks like Miatas ruled the day. Not too many other Mazda types,imagine that.

Miatas owned it up. But who expected a different outcome? We are just too cool :8):

Looks like someone opened a bag of Skittles with all the bright colors.

Is it too much? I thought regular color schemes would be boring but maybe i should tone it down

I'm just commenting on the diverse colors. I really like the treatment. What are you doing in your post porocessing, if you don't mind my asking?

Experimenting with the tints of orange/red,blue/violet,and green yellow after i sharpen clarify reduce noise, add detail, bump a tad of vibrance, saturation adjust the levels of lighting and exposure and that's it i think with lightroom. Im not sure if Im just being silly with the pictures or being creative and unique. I would love criticism back. I am doing some photos as shot to throw in a variance from what I've done so far. But please i love to be corrected and maybe taught.

I still waiting to see my car. I have :carwash: and it will be the first photo my clean car has seen with my HID installed. I can't wait to see it.

I saw a lot of cameras but I don't see pictures. This is epic failure... EPIC!!
