ArtWorks Dewa products items were hand made by Ryoichi Dewa in Japan, and are of very high quality. There are no other products on a scale of detail like these in the world, they not only have a very unique look, but also made with the same precision and care that you would find in a high end jewelry line. Sadly no longer available after his passing.

Dewa-san makes parts for NA, NB, and NC Miata, however, I am posting mostly NA Miata parts as he just has way to many products to list.

VINTAGE ALUMINUM GAUGE RINGS NO LENSES

The ring was made by a stereo system part manufacturer. It does not use chrome plating luster by chemical treatment seen by many products. Instead the surface is luxurious by designed cutting, in AWD VINTAGE GAUGE RING. It is called a diamond tooled cut. It is the technique of super-high precision treatment processing of the part on the edge seen by a Volume knob such as a high-class stereo system. They are like a jewel and produce the light reflection of amber coloring at night in the angle of the light with a reflection like a rainbow. It exceeds the quality of others on the market and gives the the feeling of very high quality. Use in place of OEM ring and a usual product. The process of the clear coating which a white change is not in is added, and the beautiful brightness is held.

You really have to see these at night with the top down while driving. The way the street lights race in circles around the vent rings is a sight to behold, just amazing craftsmanship.

Was hoping his son would take over the business. I saved most all the photos on flickr and my hard drive.

Sad most will never know his work. We all got spoiled when Joe was stocking them at Rspeed.net back in early 2000

I noticed the website was down yesterday. I was looking for some of his metal cluster photos.

Dewa-san was, obviously, a huge inspriation to me. I've gazed at his work for 15 years now. It was the direct inspiration for me designing my first gauges. I guess I'm a competitor? I honestly never felt that way. Might as well try to out hero Captain America or out invent Tony Stark. Dewa-san was always the gold standard, at least in my mind. There's no competing with that.

Not sure if I'm saying that right or if my point is coming across.

I've missed him greatly since he passed, even though I never met him.

I know the thread is for AWD gauges, but I figured I'd post my cluster and vent rings. Hope thats ok. When i found Mr Dewa passed, I went on a man hunt to find his special jems.

Swapped out the silver TypeA cluster with RS Refine rings (right) for a type B with AWD thick rings (left). The TypeA came with metal AWD overlays and G-series 1013 gauges.

I searched for this topic today, trying to identify all my AWD inventory. Funny thing, I knew I had this very photo stored in my inspirational pics, but it turns out I have actually bought your complete gauge cluster. It needs some TLC, but is in good hands and will find his way on my car as soon as finish with it.

A spare AWD cluster and AWD gauge faces. This one needs a little bit of TLC. The previous owner did not do a clean job sticking the lenses on the rs refine rings, there are glue residue everywhere!

This one is interesting, the tachometer and the speedometer lenses has a slight yellow tint to them, I thought it was due to sun fading but it looks intentional.

Here is a NB set with the medium thick rings that sold for $2000 back in Feb this year. A rare find indeed, these are becoming as elusive as the tuner version FD RX7 clusters!!

AWD black panel, AWD deep independent lens rings w. Revlimiter anti-glare glass, AWD needle caps, AWD Stardust gauge faces. Had to buy 3 partial sets of clusters to make it, a quest that took almost 3 years. The rings were in a sorry state, and took quite some labor to get them back to shape, but it was well worth it at the end.

Here is an older one I sold years back, not sure who owns it now??

Here is a set of the AWD North Island faces for NA on eBay for $420, incase anyone is looking for a set. This are actually one of his special edition sets from what I remember, and he also had some special edition stickers just for this release, sadly those are not for sale with these.
