Thanks guys! The trap timer mount is basically a copy of the original, but with the correct bolt pattern for a Momo steering wheel (the mount that came with mine had a Nardi pattern).

Impulse COVID buy; NB Morette tail lights. They were in a pretty sorry state, with foggy lenses, overspray, and missing hardware. Decided to save them, and the first step was to take them completely apart. In case you are wondering how these look like opened:

Plan is to shave and polish the lenses, replace all hardware on the inner part that is used to mount these on the car, repaint the inner part and the backside of the outer shell black using bumper paint, have the outer side of the outer shell professionally painted in Strato blue, and throw them back together. Most probably I will use butyl tape to seal both shells together, although it is not really needed.
BTW if anyone is keen on trading these for GV ones, let me know before sending the outer shells off for paint! :lol:
I always kept an eye out for these. Seems like as soon as they were FS, they sold. Very cool purchase, can't wait to see them installed!
After test fitting the Morettes, I realized they did not fit my vision for the build. Put them up for trade with a GV set, only to realize that the original GV/porter light units need the sheet metal behind them to be trimmed to fit, which I was not willing to do. Ended up selling them instead of trading, so I am now back to point zero. Oh well.
Throwback a few years back, I have made a set of drilled wipers. I really liked them but realized I had used an RHD set, which (surprise) is not the same as LHD (not sure what I was thinking). Ended up sending them to Drew, which installed them on Ronin. Last weekend I decided to repeat the process properly this time. There's a saying along the lines of "when you have a hammer, every problem looks like a nail". The same thing applies to 3D printers. Ended up designing the wipers in CAD, and printed a jig that served 2 purposes, centering a 5mm drill bit so I can start the holes, and making the tapered sides parallel so I can clamp the wipers in the vise.

After drilling the initial 5mm pilot holes, I flipped the jig upside down so I could step them up as appropriate. I had recalculated the diameters in CAD, so it was only a matter of finding the right size drill bits, as they were self-centering in the pilot holes. Made the whole process a breeze, and I was able to drill 2 sets of wipers in less than 30'.

I also pulled the oil pan and designed my own baffles.

The red ones are 3D printed prototypes, the end parts will be laser cut from stainless, using Viton flaps. Positively surprised once more at how clean the engine looks.

Now awaiting delivery of two new torque wrenches (do not trust my old one for the engine stuff) plus sealants and assembly lube, as well as valve springs. Hopefully, I will have some spare time so the engine will be done in the next month or so; fingers crossed!
Man...I'd be shocked if my engine was even half as clean as that!

While I'm not a big fan of bling, I almost think those wiper arms would look sweet if you leave the unfinished (silver) radius on the lightening holes. Of course hit them with some sealer or something.
Thanks a lot Mike! I agree, they add a nice touch, however, they will need a layer of clear to stay that way. I dropped them off for powder coating just yesterday, but I may try that on one set.

The wiper arm holes are spaced out for just the right effect and you made a clamping fixture to get it right without scratching the arms.
The pan baffles should be a work of functional art while using the proper materials.
Another example is your door bushings that are dual durometer.

Parts are back from powdercoating! I took Mike's suggestion of trying and keep that chamfered ring around the holes polished on at least one set, so I asked my guy to do only one. They turned out fantastic in satin black IMO!

Crank pulley/damper will be replaced with brand new one, and the power steering one is not removable, so I will have to live with it. Engine block is getting wire brushed and will be painted in satin black paint (similar to OEM), while all aluminum parts will be dropped off for soda blasting hopefully next week.
Also found some time to recreate the oil sump baffle in a proper material (1.5mm thick stainless, with viton M3-style flaps).

I very much prefer this solution over baffles that close the top of the deep part of the pan, as it allows for proper drainage/return of oil while being effective at reducing sloshing. This might also become a product if there's enough local demand for it.
I also did an attempt to solve the awkward transition between the dash and the Nakamae console, but the thickness of the carpet does not allow this part to sit flush, which annoys me even more.

What are the flaps for?
They act as mechanical one-way valves. They allow oil to flow in the central compartment (where the oil pickup for the oil pump is) but do not allow oil to flow from the central compartment to the sides, preventing sloshing and starvation.
Great looking parts Harry. If you do produce the oil baffle I'll be in for one.
