Just curious how many of us there are on here. I know with it being the more expensive of the 3 options it's going to be a smaller group than the others. I currently have a 2006, but would love at some point to have an NA.

Checking in. :) Enjoyed my NB1 for 12 years (still do and luckily get to drive it pretty regularly as new owner is a friend), now enjoying my NC2!
here! my nc2 its almost 1 year old, i brougt im january 28 2011
NC owner checking in.
I have the 2.0 litre sport which I think in the uk is the equivalent of your GT model. 2006 in sunlight silver. Bought in October 2011 and came from from a charged NA. I'd have gone for the nc2 if I had the money as I quite like the front end look but I got a great deal on my nc1.
Me too, checking in with Marble White 06 GT
Someone should make an NC picture thread. I never see any that aren't stock :(
my is stock lol i ben seaching and recycling pictures all around the web, to se how im goint to make my car, so far, just the fender flares and a carbon hard top are the first "must have" items i will get

NC2 PRHT here. Had a NB1 for a few years, loved it but wanted a new car and a PRHT.
perhaps. GT here is 17" wheels, leather seats, Bose sound system, and canvas (vs vinyl) roof, among other things. Most GTs I've seen have the "premium" package, which steps it up to keyless ignition, high intensity discharge headlamps, and a limited slip rear differential.
+1 NC owner, 06 GT with tech/premium. I drive it once every couple months, it's usually just sitting deep underground in the garage.
had to go back and edit my post, I was wrong about the tech package.. was thinking of another Mazda model with that. Just looked at the brochure (warning: PDF link) again, mine is premium package 1, as it came without the suspension package (all those bits have been replaced now anyway). Only difference is prem 1 comes with the limited slip, prem 2 is without it because it's for automatics or manual cars with the suspension package.
2007 Stormy Blue PRHT purchased July 2011 with 8000 miles cream puff but alas automatic, done a lot of mods recently but no engine or suspension mods yet.

Out west here partner we all do alot of 4 byin so no suspension lowering in the near future Lol.
Actually, my 1st mistake, the wheels nice, chromies with brand new rubber 205/40R/17 a lower tire. Got them locally on Craigs list for less than $500. but the offset sets them out too far to lower into wheel wells as it will definately rub so I will remain high until I find the right wheels, also with all the construction and speed bumps in Vegas as well as an incline in my driveway any lower and I will need skidpaltes.
Actually the wheel offset is great. It's nice and flush with the wheel well edge looks like. You don't need to slam the ride height but NC1's in particular really benefit from a lower ride height (how Mazda should have sold them from factory, frankly). Mazdaspeed springs (or Eibach equivalents) are conservative and inexpensive yet will lower you about 1.25" - 1.5". Or if you plan more suspension mods (shocks) then just get coilovers and set whatever ride height you like.
Your car is looking good though vegasmx, the stripes and wheels really set it off against the Stormy Blue. Nice work!
Exactly what I'm saying, even just a little bit from springs will make it look so much better. A perfect example would be blackchicken's car, just Mazdaspeed springs and it already looks way better than stock and handles great. No need for skidplates. Hope you don't mind I'm gonna post a pic of your car as an example (it'll make up for you not posting a pic earlier):

No worries. Not the most flattering photo going up hill like that but gives an idea I guess. But in the interests of saving a fellow NC from driving around in OEM 4x4 mode any longer than absolutely necessary, here is one more...
Attachment 1861
VegasMX - if you or others want more info on how much lowering you can expect, measure your hub centre to fender and you will likely for the NC1 it is ~15" (NC2 improved slightly to ~14.5", still weirdly high for a sports car). With the mazdaspeed springs this will drop a full 1.5", maybe even a bit more... mine is ~13.25" - 13.4". It ends up at a ride height that, frankly, just looks "normal" rather than "lifted" (it would look even better another 0.5" lower IMO). So it's not extreme at all and very reasonable for daily driving on Canadian less-than-perfect roads, even in winter.
And here is my idea of a perfectly lowered / stanced rim NC, snagged from the "best NC pic" thread that has many more examples... major props to the owner of this NC...

Hey Jon. Was wondering how long it was gonna take for you to post in here. Lol! Damn you've done a truckload to your car. No oe can tell cause its mostly performance based. Unlike mine. Lol. Ps. You forgot your mazdaspeed oil cap. :D
Jon - your car has long been one of my favourite NC's. Very nicely put together. Even wheels suit it to a T.
Checking in from Brisbane Australia...sorry about the delay in posting!
Brand new NC2 here, just picked it up last Monday. I had a 99 which I bought new, and eventually FMII turboed it, and ran it for another 80,000 miles until the motor started feeling tired. Test drove an 07 and didn't like the handling, so I bought an S2000. But my fellow club members finally convinced me of the error of my ways. Actually the S2K is a very nice car, handles quite well, but is a bit hardcore and spartan. I really like my new MX-5, and plan to treat it to a healthy aftermarket diet.
I just found this forum when I was checking R2 Limited for Miata graphics.
welcome to the club!
most people here drive na's and nb's, we are a few nc owners here you got any pics of you car?
holly crap! you drive the same as me liquid silver!
Sweet! welcome to NC ownership. It's a bit of a rarified group on this forum.
Some updates on my 07, Added the 1/4 " red pin as contrast, and just yesterday added a matching single hash stripe to the drivers side front fender.
I know I will take heat on this one but I bought those Fake Brembo caliper covers and installed them 2 weeks ago, I am actually happy with them because they have all but eliminated the brake dust that was covering my chrome wheels, and I don't have to touch them up as I did with the red paint I did, best $17.00 I ever spent.

Former '07 PRHT and '09 CY owner. Trading in my '11 MINI JCW for a '12 SE in white in late March/early April. Had an NA for 15 years, but sold all my Miatas before getting the MINI. Looking forward to coming back to the fold, though I will miss the power of the JCW.

I'm an ex-JCW owner as well. Mine was a factory JCW R53 and a great car in almost every way - but the way in which it wasn't great is hard to change - FWD. :) Welcome back to miata-land. That yellow NC2 looks fantastic at the ride height you are running it and I really like the wheels as well.
I still have the wheels. I don't have the JICs anymore. I'm definitely going to be putting at least springs on the SE, as well as the Mazdaspeed by Rays wheels.

Hey NC friends!
Chobomb checking in. I don't really have much on the NC, as parts are still too pricey, few and far inbetween. Plus, it's my weekend car so, I've kept it kind of light and basic. I've acquired a 1990 NA6 for daily use and I've been working on that mostly. But here is what is on the NC so far:
2006 Sport with performance package
Winning Blue
2009 motor with 15k
OEM LSD
OEM FSTB
17x9 +45mm Enkei RPF1
235/45/17 Toyo R1R
Tein Flex Coilovers
Racing Beat Front/Rear Sways
Goodwin Race Single
Exedy HD clutch
Fidanza lightweight flywheel
Joyfast shift knob
Took a quick pic at the carwash the other day:

Looks good, congrats on the purchase!
Chobomb, love the winning blue. When I got mine I had no idea the car came in that color, woul'dve given the Nordic green a run for it's money as far as my choice went.
Nice SE ya got there Phinz!
white!
they say wen i got my mazda dint make any more white one.. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
lol
sorry dude, special edition. Only time they have offered a PRHT in white in the US. (They did offer them in Canada before this though)
oh my that looks incredible in white --well, it will once it's at an inoffensive ride height ;)
Suspension is in the plans. Wish I still had my JIC-Alt2s. I traded the last Miata with them still on it because I was tired of swapping suspensions.
yeah honestly that green is my fav NC1 color and also the one color I never see. I think I've seen one in person ever.
Well the Nordic green (mine) was only in 06, like winning blue, but they switched to a highland green in 07. It wasn't a super popular color, most greens aren't. You can see in the pics kfj posted in my build thread how much the color changes depending on the light. Almost black in low light, green or almost a blue green at times.
interesting!
Here's my 06 southeast of Dallas.

I will always hate how Mazda decided to make the NC just a little bit nicer 6 months after I bought my car in 2008, lol.
Checking in WAY late on this thread. Just got an '06 Galaxy Gray GT and lovin' it.
Just joined on here!

welcome folks!
Greetings from SW Minnesota. In 2006, I bought a 1991 Classic Red Miata because it met the three requirements I have for a car: 1. The top goes down. 2. It has a Manual Transmission. 3. It had an EPA rating near 30 mpg. This fall, I succumbed to the car bug (something that happens every seven years) and bought a 2011 Copper Red mica GT PRHT. Also meeting those same requirements. The new one is in storage until spring, and I'm driving the '91 until the weather warms up.
I tried to edit the date, but this iPad app gave me a "Parser Error". It was really 2006 that I bought the NA. Now it's fixed. Go figure!

My 2014 Zeal Red GT that I drive to work each day. 4 weeks old today, and have over 2000 miles on it already. It's too much fun to drive to leave it in the driveway....I ordered a carport to part it under, so my baby will have a home in about 3 weeks (for the wife's car, 2014 Camry, too)
Here is my 2010 ... Upgraded OEM suspension, roadster sport race headers and midpipe, extended 02 plug, flash tuned by moto east, DBS slotted rotors, SS brake lines, hawk HPS pads.

I still think the NC2 with a 2.5 engine swap is just about perfect.
NC are the hidden gem of Miatas. Mine is upgraded with an LFX/6L50 with MeisterR coil overs. This completes a fine design.
