Yea I was going to say that I've been slaying a couple Cayman S cars at autocross, haven't gone up against any Boxsters yet.

What you can do to the miata, you can do to the Boxster, it's all in the money. For me, I want both Miata & Porsche. I remember keeping up with a Cayman on the canyons many years ago, but that's because the guy on the Cayman was probably inexperienced. I know I would have been faster on the Cayman. I can't wait to get a Porsche again.

I'd rather beat a Boxster in an MX5 than beat an MX5 in a boxster though ...

I would rather have a maintenance bill for an MX5 vs. a maintenance bill for a Porsche

^ It's a nasty maintenance bill alright, that's why I kept my miata for college commute and occasional HPDE . I got about 1-1/2 years left before I plan on taking my CPA test, after that I'm getting that Porsche and FM built motor. My miata has been very good in taking me to school & work, only a motor built by FM can make it right LoL.

^ Rebello and 949 Racing (among a few others) could build an engine as good as FM.

As for the Porsche VS Miata... Endless debate. I bought my first NA to replace two back to back P cars. A 944S with the M030 suspension, and a 968 with the 6 speed. Sure, the Miata is a hoot, and the maintenance bills for the P cars were enough to run a South American Banana Republic, but man when those cars were in their element, nothing came close.

Luckily, I saved the maintenance receipts for both, every time I feel like shopping for a P car (and trust me the itch never goes away), I looks at those receipts and the desire just goes away.

    Still...
96 Montego, replacing a 95M... I miss: My running peeps in Tampa, running barefoot @ Clearwater Beach and First Choice BBQ, in Brandon. In So Cal I miss: The Malibu Canyons, CA 33 and In & Out Burgers ! I'm from Tampa, if I was from Tampa Bay, I'd be a fish!

^I know Rebello, I had a top end built by them on my 92 miata a few years back. Rebello also did the head on my 91 Turbo Mr2. I picked FM because I have a few more stuff that I want done by them. Not to mention the cool plate with your name on it built by one of the guy's at FM. I've always been a Porsche fan, it's a complete car period. Especially the newer models, it keeps getting better and better, but again you gotta pay to play. My first miata was a Merlot, it had 5 owners, but the body & paint was in excellent condition. I wish I kept that one, it's less work I have to deal with compared to my current 96. I will post pics if I find the picture.

The hp gains off of a stock jrsc are a little hard to believe...especially off a 1.8 that breathes so much better
