Haha mate. It did go quieter earlier this year.

In other news I dropped the black hardtop from the black roadster to the paint shop this morning as hadn't the funds to do it when the rest of the car had been done. It will be staying PZ black like the rest of the car. Seeing as the car was out of the garage I fitted the missing tow hook which I had bought from Andrew at Autolink earlier in the week and the offset number plate. Not often you will see me with the hardtop off a MX5 but this shows nicely the new seats.

I'm pleased with the progress on this black roadster. It seems worth the effort. Next plans all being well is some service work on the corns roadster and Pitcrew roadster.

Fitted some new parts to some of my roadsters. First up a Mazda 323 cam cover to my black Pitcrew roadster, along with an oil/filter change plus new genuine Mazda cam cover gasket.


Always liked these, had one before and sold it and nice to have one fitted.








Also got round to fitting a new silicone coolant hose kit with fresh coolant for the corns roadster I had bought a while ago.

In other news the silver car and my r limited both had their MOT's today. Passed all OK. The R limited had done only 13km since last MOT so spongy brakes at first as hadnt been out of the garage in about a year!







Next plans are a polished cam cover I have for the R Limited plus new cam cover gasket plus some maintenance work on silver car and red car.

Few updates on the roadsters.


The Pitcrew now has retro reflectors from Prontry Japan. I had been after a set of these for ages as used to have them on my red Pitcrew. Only wanted the rears and got them fitted today.





My black roadster has now also had the hardtop resprayed as that looked tatty following the rest of the work done.





Also bought a alloy style/roll bar locally recently. Turns thanks to the help of a knowledgeable member on here it's from a smaller tuner in Japan called 'Road Kids.' I fitted it today and well made bit of kit if a little odd had you bolt and secure inside the car.





I didn't get a good photo of it fitted but this is it in the car it came from.

All has been quiet on the car front apart from a polished cam cover going on the R Limited with a new genuine Mazda cam cover gasket while the black roadster with the T-House Clubman had JASS Performance hardtop brackets fitted and NCB Motorsport tow hooks fitted to the front and rear.


Last week As per photos last week my silver car and red went to The MX5 Restorer for rust prevention work. At The MX5 Restorer they remove the road wheels and arch liners, removing any failing existing underseal, wire brushing off all areas that will be receiving new underseal, masking anything that might need masking (such as new coil overs or exhausts) applying Bilt hamber rust treatments, applying dinitrol underseal, then applying bilt hamber cavity wax, allowing to dry before refitting arch liners and removing masking. I also had all the subframes done. It's a 2004 import I've owned the silver since 2007 and in my time where possible never used outside summer. Red car is a 2009 import with little mile either here or in Japan so worth the effort given the climate here in the UK.

All quiet on the roadster front but have been parts gathering. I now have a HKS 1.6 manifold to fit on the black S-Special while also been collecting from various sources a complete spare MK1 red interior. Also locally I am came across a rare ARC diagonal retro alloy style/roll bar. Update today though is I fitted some Zoom Engineering rear lights to the S-Special. I am happy with the change as complements the rest of the car.

Thanks the black s-special roadster has been a mini-restoration job. Some more work to do but getting to where I want it.

More updates. The Black S Special is now pretty much a S Limited. In 1993 Mazda ran a limited run of 1000 Black S Special models that came with a red interior. I've always liked the Red interiors in the MK1 hence my S Limited Pitcrew and R Limited Roadster. My 1993 S-Special pretty much bar the seats has a S-Limited interior now that I'd been gathering red interior parts recently. I do have a spare of semi-tatty red seats so maybe I fit them at some stage too. A good point of the recent parts gathering is it even includes the red seat belts though the door cards are from a R Limited.







Lastly I fitted a HKS 1.6 Manifold and smooth red cam cover with new cam cover gasket. I'd owned this HKS manifold before but sold it after I fitted a Maximworks/Mazdaspeed version to my Pitcrew. Seeing as this black car was allegedly tuned by HKS in Japan before and had a HKs manifold when first imported seemed fitting to get another for it.
