Last night here in England locally to me met with a professional photographer who had asked to take some photos of it. Over 200 photos taken. Attention to detail compared to my snap shots are night and day.

Red car picked up today and used for the first time since purchase as a non runner around 6 weeks ago. Car itself was a 2009 import roadster, only around 49000 miles on the clock but badly faded original paint and a non runner as parked up for just over 2 years due to an electrical issue. Now running again and a full respray together with new discs and pads to get it through the MOT. I got it home and have tidied the interior and fitted a few parts that had gone missing. A classic looking Japanese style roadster imo with the low ride height and 13' Hayashi wheels.

Imported with super low miles?? Did a Japanese resident get tired of paying the 30% tax every year on that roadster??

    Looks great for its age!!

When can we see the professional photos of the pit crew?

I questioned the low mileage when I bought it as did wonder if it may have what we call here in the UK been 'clocked.' However considering how solid the shell was and every panel was original paint and good think it's genuine (plus has old paperwork in the UK to back the mileage and dealer certificate when imported).

The black roadster had the photos taken as a national classic car magazine want to do a feature on it so hopefully I be able to share some soon or after its gone to press.

I must credit the photographer, Chris Frosin who is a automotive photographer here in the UK working for numerous car magazines for taking the photo and am looking forward to seeing his other efforts. When I was with him I saw his eye for detail in getting the right shots.

I maybe mistaken but when I saw the above photo last night taken by Chris it reminded me of a photo from maybe 10 years ago of Phatmiata's white roadster with the red nakamae seats taken I think near a beach in Florida. That for me back in the day along with a few others have inspired my builds since.

Few more updates. The red one this I fitted some new plugs and leads in as I don't know when they were last done and the car is idling at 500 rpm at tick over which is too low. Also fitted a replacement bit of plastic trim for under the steering console as it was missing I bought this week (only to find the original in the boot when I was cleaning it up later). Since fitting the new plugs and leads it seems a bit smoother when accelerating but idle is still too low. It does not flutter at all (or stall) but just sticks at 500 rpm. I am guessing maybe after 2 years of the car sitting around not being used the idle air control valve is needing a good clean plus to a base idle reset. Hopefully that then sorts it but will also do:

oil and filter change (again not been done yet).
    fuel filer change
new battery as the one it is is too big and the negative connection is a bit loose.

Finally another photo from Chris Frosin, the professional photographer who asked to take some photos of the black roadster.

Well yesterday was a bit of car day from early morning.

Got the R Limited MOT'd (UK national annual vehicle inspection test) and also had a new tyre fitted on the front as got a puncture and damaged the side wall of the original tyre. Also sorted a slow leak in one of the rear tyres. Car passed all OK and whilst I have crawled under the car I was able to get down in the pit when the car was checked underneath and its cleaner then I had thought for lack of rust (kind of knew it wasn't bad). I also have a new set of Jackson Racing ignition leads to go on at some point.

Silver car also went in for the MOT and passed all OK. The tester really liked this car as liked the turbo set up, etc. First time I have really used it since fitting all the Nakamae interior parts to go with the Zoom Engineering parts creating a GT-style interior. This car is a 2004 import and I would like to get it undersealed at some stage.

Lastly pulled the Corns roadster out of the garage and fitted a Moroso alloy expansion tank like I have in the black roadster and silver roadster. This is a part I really like. It is a quality build, a bit lighter then stock, etc. It is expensive but I like it in the engine bay of a modified roadster with a turbo, supercharger, etc as adds a nice finishing touch. Equally I came across a set of brand new Zoom Engineering indicators BNIB and starter button I forgot I had so will probably fit this to this car when I next get a chance. Also sorted out the wiring I had forgot to reconnect when I last worked on the car so sorted the issue as to why the headlights would not pop up.

Few more updates in the last couple of weeks. The Corns Roadster now has a rare JDM dash binnacle made by a enthusiast in Japan. I feel lucky to have the part and the design and owner in Japan contacted me as was amazed to see his part on a roadster outside of Japan and likewise pleased to see it liked on a wider scale. Here is that part.

In other news I also got some a pillars and the top windscreen surround trimmed in red nakamae leather to match the interior parts elsewhere in the car. I had the spare Nakamae leather from the dash top and had been meaning to do this modification for a while. In the end I found a local motorbike trimmer in the heart of the Sussex countryside who did the trim. I had never removed the a pillar surround, etc before but very easy to do and I like this modification as adds to the red interior look where previously I always thought the plastic a pillars looked out of place.

Thanks. Next job are the red one is getting a bit more service work done which after doing the spark plugs, leads, proper Mazda battery and fitting kit will be new cam cover gasket, cas o ring, new fuel and oil filter, oil change. Then I will have a play with the base idle reset once I know that the low idle Rev is not down to the 2 years of sitting unused, etc.

So much incredible. Your builds (plural!!!) provide so much inspiration. I still can't even get my head wrapped around the rare collection of parts you've had installed on your stunning collection of miatae (not sure what the UK equivalent is). Only makes me wish I'd started before so many bits have become complete
unobtainium. Left the UK four years ago but maybe when I'm back over I can convince you to let me see your collection in person. Please keep sharing - can't wait to see more of the pitcrew shoot!
