That velcro idea is genius. I will attempt that when I take the panels off.

Test-fitted the wheels today, mainly because I wanted to check for brake clearances, measure up for spacers and take a look on how the car looks with them. Turned out to have a hair of clearance between caliper bracket and wheel center (less than 2mm), which will be fixed by the addition of spacers all around. Red looks BAD, but what's even worse is the SUV-like ride height. Need to proceed with my bilstein coilover setup sooner than planned. OK, pics!

Could not resist and I did a quick n' dirty photoshop session. Lowered and non-red (albeit I will make them lighter gray than the one here)

Someone asked suggestions for a small SUV. A bit surprised noone suggested your car, Harry.
Looking good pal, even without spacers, fitment looks spot on, but I get it's for clearance issues. Lower the car, paint the wheels, and it's proper.

I'm not a fan of red, either. But with the COs install and a refurbed red coating on those the contrast would pop on your ride. Just saying...

Thanks Ed! They are 15x6.5" ET34 I believe, with 205/50 tires on them. Would love them to be 7-7.5 wide, but I could not just pass on them, especially at the price I got them. I will have to add spacers for clearance, so offset will end up in high 20s..

They do indeed pop! The need refinishing for sure, as colour is really beat up, and I will be going for something more discreet than red...

There are RS-8 barrels that pops up in Ebay once in a while. Don't BBS barrels fit? Rotiform IIRC also make some barrels.

Indeed the 4x100 are getting hard to come by. What color are you looking at for your centers? Burnt/Old copper in matte will complement your tan interior.

Ι initially thought about re-barrelling, as I wanted an extra 0.5-1" more lip. However, when I saw then up close, I think they don't need that for the look I want to achieve. Not sure if BBS barrels fit, I think the hole pattern is not right, but not 100%. Pretty sure that other SSR barrels do not fit, since they are 20-hole instead of the 16-hole on the RS8s. Even if I decide to do so, the cost would be prohibitive. I am looking at 600+ for four outer barrels, plus I will have to split mine somehow, as RS8 barrels are welded... For now, just repainting and a small spacer for brake clearance, as there are less than 2mm between the wheel hub and the front caliper carrier.

As far as colour goes, I did a few attempts on photoshop, they are in the previous page. I am leaning towards a light grey/silver-ish (like in the following picture) or bronze

There's a slight chance of painting the lips as well, as I liked how the photoshopped images worked. Most probably I'll experiment a bit with rattle can paint on the centers, before I send them out for a proper sandblasting and powdercoating.

Bronze it is! It looks very classy.

Is it me? The rear looks like it is 16"

Most probably the camera angle (and the fact that the tire was really low on air).
