Randy: Agreed! The two round front openings would compliment the Carbon Miata taillight panel nicely! Plus the integrated radiator duct is neat and functional!

Bo: Pretty sure wannafbody was being sarcastic...either way im not too keen on a fiberglass front bumper unless it was something uber cool like the Pit Crew front end or the like. Abs plastic or the like just really works for bumpers imo. Hope it goes to a sweet miata and they share pics once its painted and installed.

Is this a readily available front bumper or a discontinued item? If it's still in production then copying it would be in bad taste.

In addition to this. What does it look, or rather how much better does it look, without the license plate holder.

I guess that's where I kind of take the opposing stance. If something is OOP, and there are no plans on re-creating it, why shouldn't another company be able to come along and make the same styled thing? Yes, I agree that if it's a currently produced item, then copying it might be questionable/poor taste. But if it's not trademarked, then it's capitalism at work.

I know people would get butthurt when they drop $1500 on a 15 year old bumper, and then see a similar thing being freshly produced at a better price. I know people put pride into hunting down some rare, barely heard of, insanely overpriced because hella-JDM stuff. Hell, I've bought some of the rare bits myself, and have enjoyed knowing that I have something that not everyone else can get. If a company was to come along and re-make that old, worn part, it would not bother me at all. Hell, I'd buy one if something happened to the original, if the craftsmanship was as good as the original.

But to me car parts, especially a bumper, especially if it's fiberglass, is a wear item. It's going to crack and degrade and eventually need replacing/ bodywork to look new. Someone else having a replica (of an OOP) part isn't going to hurt me or my ego one bit.

... and that's all I have to say about that.

That said, If I still had an NA, I'd buy the hell out of this bumper.

Well, it's not in the "for sale" section, so I don't know.

Yeah, that could be part of the reason, I guess...
