Nah, gotta buy a clutch, flywheel, and radiator yet. The stock parts won’t hold that kinda power.

    Randy, FWIW:

If it were me, I'd be looking at FM's Stage 1 with the 10.3 flywheel. That's what I have in the BRG with the smaller turbo, and it's excellent. Pedal feel is great. The light flywheel does take a little getting used to...

Radiator and coolant reroute, the price of 949's package deal hasn't dropped with the introduction of the new QMax reroute, but their radiator is as good or better than FM's and still almost $100 less expensive. The complete QMax is just shy of $600, but will be the way I go for my next one...

I don't recall if your setup came with a boost gauge or Air/Fuel gauge... but if Adam is doing gauges for you, I'm pretty sure he can do faces for some of those, too.. I don't recall which ones. AEM maybe? I went with Speedhut for my boost gauge, the needle and lettering match my OE gauges perfectly, the lighting is a different shade of green, but not bad.

    -Matt

Prepping for the turbo installation took longer than installing the system and tuning it. Lots of planning and forethought involved, otherwise you chase your own tail.

Just another $.02. I've been talking to both 949 and FM on cooling options and got an honest point of view from Dan on the Supermiata radiator vs FM's cross flow. Essentially he said that on track and with proper ducting 949's has lots of cooling and is several pounds lighter (and cheaper). 949 typically delete the AC fan and only use one OEM fan in their race cars. However he did say that for a street car in traffic, or with poor airflow management (AC, no ducting, no hood vents) a larger radiator and upgraded fans might be prudent.

Given that I've decided to add the Qmax along with FM's stage 1 rad and fans.

What can I say here, Adam @ Revlimiter.net is THEE MAN when it comes to custom gauges. I have seen his work on some other nice cars in the bay area, however this is my first time seeing his brand NEW Version (Generation 3) gauges in person. Wow, this new version is just spectacular in person, with the wrinkle finish, richer colors, better lighting, and more depth in the numbers, and a more durable material he is using now, its just crazy how great these look!!

All I can say is do yourself a favor and go buy some Revlimiter gauge faces now, dont think about it any longer! If you have older REV faces, or Dewa faces, just sell them and buy his new version, you cannot go wrong!!

I tried to take photos of mine, but heck even Adam's photos dont do these faces justice, you really have to see these in person!! Thank you Adam for such a great product for our Miatas!!

    Whoa.

Shout-outs to Adam: his gauges in my car (currently a one-of-a-kind) are one of the biggest reasons I didn't get rid of it after the accident

This is one of the kindest things I've ever read about my gauges. I'm humbled. Thank you.

So after I got the guages back from Revlimiter I realized that the rough ride back from AZ to FL the two main lenses had come somewhat loose, so I had to take them all the way off, and clean them again and re-glue them back in.

I messed it up several times making a mess, and finally gave it another go the following day after some sleep. My eyes and hands/fingers are not as nimble as they used to be. This kinda work sucks and is very tedious.

    here we go again............

I put tiny tiny pencil head sized beads of sealant on the lens using a wood toothpick, this picture shows a bit better.

AWD lenses cleaned and reseated by Randy George, on Flickr

im pretty sure I cleaned each lens 10 or more times and re-seated the lens 5 times because I kept smearing the sealant on the lens making a mess of them

then finally got them right, with little to no sealant showing, this was freaking annoying, I did lots of model planes as a child but my eyes and fingers just can't do this as well as when I was a kid, and not without me getting me frustrated as hell doing it.

    bam ...........

done finally and installed back into the miata, but not without adding a little more bling in the form of this cool odometer trip/reset from RetroModernUSA, "Thanks Ken"

Also found a seller in Japan making these custom made Key hole covers, I bought this back in April and finally found it in my toolbox, so I made sure to install it right then so that I would not misplace it again.

For Fathers day I took our new puppy "Napoleon Dynamite" a (French Bulldog) to the in laws house, he was fine with the car until I started it up.
Needless to say he was not a fan of how loud the RS*R Ex Mag GTII Exhaust was.

You can see his reaction once I started the car up. hahhahaha

All in all it was a good day, and nice to enjoy Fathers day with the family and the Miata.

Maybe if you get him some pooch goggles and invite him to sit on the seat instead of in the foot well?

Installing a "taller" MiataRoadster.com short shifter kit and decided to change up my HVAC Panel,

I have the Original Art Works Dewa panel with Diamond tooled ring, and .... (RIGHT)

a RS-Products version-1 HVAC panel, also with an AWD Diamond tooled ring (LEFT)

so which HVAC panel should I use?

Since I moved a couple times last year a lot of the small interior parts I wanted to install are nowhere to be found, so I had bought extra sets. Well finally getting settled in the new house and cleaned up the garage and found that I had 3 sets of HVAC controls, and 3 sets of foot pedals. I will be selling those on here this week.

Anyhow, here is the final choice, it was not easy but I decided to take the best aspects of each maker and create my OWN custom HVAC panel.

RS-Products = HVAC panel TYPE-SB1 (I liked this all business look)
AWD = Fan Speed Diamond tooled ring (because that ring looks like jewlery)
RetroModern = Fan speed knob and sliders (I like the Knurled knobs)

Later on I plan go back in here and put a Revlimiter HVAC plate because his gen3 stuff is top notch

Still no play money for a Clutch and flywheel etc. but....

found this in my parts bin, a ArtWorks Dewa Cigarette lighter surround (called a smoke ring on his website) and popped it off the ring section because i think it looks better this way.
