...... the OEM Knee Panel in the USA is made from HEAVY metal and its almost 2 lbs !!! And they always seem to fall off during aggressive shifting anyhow. yuck, I hated that heavy panel

USDM VERSION almost 2 lbs !!!

JAPAN SPEC VERSION only 6 ounces !!

Check out the weight loss, that is called adding lightness hahahaha. And yes sure I could remove the panel and leave it off, or even gut the interior to save weight, but anyone can do that, I wanted to keep the car looking factory on the inside, so this was a neat little way to drop 1.5 lbs off the car without sacrificing looks. This is a Street car after all.

And here it is mounted, some weight is lost and still looks factory.

That was my 5 minute mod for the week

Installed some LED lights in the gauge cluster

I tried to take a photo of it afterwards but can't get a good photo with the smart phone.

Installed the fancy Valve Cover with my oldest son (he is almost 10) He was able to reach at least the front bolts, (short arms) and then I had him install the new gasket and make sure we put the plug wires back in the correct firing order.

    all opened up

here he is installing the new gasket

quick shot before it goes back on, here is the stock vs the fancy one.

    ratcheting down the last bolts

"........... Dad, when are we taking out the Miata out for a spin?
Maybe we can go to the gas station and get a candy bar?"

Upgraded the 3rd brake light to an LED setup

This was nothing fancy, they sell a similar kit online but the only difference is the kits have a clear lens which would look odd on my black Miata.

So this one I used the OEM red lens which I like much better.

It's very bright, but the camera does not catch it like your eyes would.

    Looks like glowing afterburners........

You can get them through http://www.Rspeed.net I think they are still importing stuff from IL Germany
    http://www.ilmotorsport.com/shop/art...0f2bfae5d80be3

Basically taking the guts from this light and sticking into your OEM one, unless you like that clear setup.

    Nothing exciting ...... Yet

Took off the OEM Nardi Shifter from the 93LE so it does not get worn out

Gonna try out this Zoom Engineering weighted shift knob

Also put on this JAF sticker for an extra 5hp lol
