I was bored so I decided to give something a try that I have been curious about for some time. Anyone that is a automobile enthusiast with a broad appreciation for all different makes, models and eras of automobiles have undoubtedly seen older roadsters(various other including race cars) and such with just the single windshield wiper and in fact Pit Crew did this on their car, iirc.

I have seen others do it so I knew it couldn't be difficult. As it turns out it wasn't difficult and basically you just remove both wipers and use one on the passenger side(LHD obviously) and angle it to were when the wiper is being used it wipes the majority of the driver side field of vision.

I chose to use the passenger side "wingless" since I figured it would be the least intrusive. I put it on and turned on the wiper and adjusted as needed and go it in probably half a dozen or less attempts. It is actually far less intrusive to the driver and it covers most of the driver side field of vision directly ahead. Here are some pics:

Before w/ OEM wiper setup aka boring

After w/ single passenger side wiper setup

    Before w/ OEM wiper setup

After w/ single passenger side setup

Driver(s) field of vision w/ single passenger side wiper setup at rest

Driver(s) field of vision to the right w/ single passenger side wiper setup at rest

Single passenger side wiper setup @ it's lowest point of travel

View of the single passenger side wiper setup from the rear of the car

I like it but obviously the real verdict will be determined by the compromise in function when it is actually needed but a larger(another 2" or so) could be used and will check into that. I got my wife's opinion and should was indifferent at this point. If I like it I may sand it down and do a brushed type finish and clear coat it, time will tell.

mono wiper conversions were popular back in the day in the watercooled VW scene. I guess the idea was to emulate Mercedes-Benz cars and DTM racers. But I think they used modified linkages so the wiper was parked in the vertical position and had a wider swept area.

Installed the Revlimiter hazard/light switches, and Warbird Hvac on my tombstone. no pictures, since it's sitting on a shelf to be installed back on the car in the spring. car is... mostly inaccessible in the winter! It's killing me already, and it's been only 12 days since I put it in storage!

Installed some ebay seat skins today. Honestly kinda surprised at how well they fit/look. Also revisited the foamectomy while doing so. Sitting a little lower now in much better looking seats.

Well I've had a rather "notchy" feeling to my gear shift ever since I got my car so I ordered a rebuild kit. Only part that was missing that I really need is the guide that goes into the ball joint as its got some rather warn in marks. But otherwise it went great and I can always go back and fix it.

Oh and it turns out the smaller boot was leaking... a lot.

The Mono-wiper Looks nice Greesemonkey!! Think I will steal your idea Could also add the Rain-X glass stuff...

I did something! Started tearing apart the interior of my Miata to install the roll bar. Going to foamectomey the seats; removed center console and going to do a diy console delete; removed the soft-top for good. I am going to make a Bikini-top. Also sanded and polished my tails and took a sharpie to the plate panel.

Made an air box, I'll pull it back out next weekend and paint it to match the valve cover and intake manifold. Air is getting pulled in through the wiper cowl Randall style, assuming it's working properly.
