    Headrest speakers replacement

The seats in my Miata 1990 are original and in excellent shape. I would hate to mess with them just to change the speaker.
Can somebody suggest a procedure (minimal invasion surgery) to do the task?

Plenty of info on the pointy board.
3.5 round speakers can be put in the stock pockets and all zipped up you would never know other than good sounds.
    Its pretty easy.

Miata.net would be the pointy board.
Changing the speakers involves undoing the zip on the headrest, the rest is easy, but the zips do get stuck fairly badly after 25 years.

Millenium 5 is a pretty popular plug & play option as I understand it, and is likely what I'll be trying when I go to do my stereo revamp. I have a Nakamichi receiver and a set of Nakamichi door speakers that I'll be installing at the same time.

The speakers look as if cockraches ate them.
I did check the 3rdstrategy site. Perfect.

clearwater is another options. Plug n' play 3.5" with excellent sound. I bought a set years ago and they still sound great and remain in great shape.

With minor modifications a 3 1/2" speaker will fit. They are very popular - made to fit GM cars. You can get them from Crutchfield, or any of about 100 sources on Ebay.
