Aside from it being the way it is, why am I unable to edit my posts after the first day, I believe ?

Pretty sure they have a time limit set for post editing!

Very true. There is a time limit to edit posts in order to circumvent ninja edits and drama but personally, I think our supporting members should have a little more time. That doesn't mean they're exempt but better trusted given their investment in our community.

We're always evolving and nothing is decided on a whim. If supporting members have a good idea, please bring it forward.

I would like to have access to my posts in the FSOT and For Sale forums to be able to update them as things go along.

I understand and agree but for argument's sake, let me ask you this: why couldn't you just update the latest post of your own sale thread so that anyone reading it knows from the latest post whether your item is still for sale or not?

Why would you need to edit your OP when your latest post should reflect whether or not the item is sold?

    True. But:
It looks sloppy with the partial updates I am able to enter
Also, it gives a false impression to readers of what is available on first look.
I may change my mind on pricing and the sale in general
    And,
I do update the threads as things occur, as additional posts when I can not edit.

I actually liked being able to lock the for sale threads as things sold, no longer able to do that now since I mentioned it.

So you are basically concerned about crowd control and civility in posts.
From what I have seen here, over other sites, you have a rather mild (happy to be here) crowd.

Not sure the fears are all that founded. But I'm new here, so I can defer to you on the reality of that.

Replying to AO's comment: if someone interested comments below that post, it could get difficult for someone to know what exactly is left for sale.

For example someone sells 10 items, has 3 remaining and posts about them. Then there are 5 more posts from potential buyers. Someone coming for the first time in this thread, might get confused.
