Post Mazda MX-5 Special Editions to be shown at Tokyo Auto Show

Mazda, next month at the Tokyo Auto Salon will introduce two special versions of the MX-5 model.

Dubbed the MX-5 RF Custom Style, the first of the two roadsters is based on the MX-5 RF RS. It features a number of new stylistic touches such as black extensions for the front splitter and side skirts, a low-slung front splitter, sway bar, adjustable suspension and new sports exhaust system, compared to the car on which it’s based.

The second vehicle is named the MX-5 Classic Red and as the name suggests it is painted in a color called Classic Red, which was one of three colors offered with the original 1990 version. Except for the color, the rest of the car remains unchanged.

Unfortunately, the company didn’t reveal any powertrain figures and we have to wait until 13 January 2017 to find out, when the Tokyo Auto Salon opens its doors.

But those you could wash in a 1 to 5 mix of K-1 and hot water to "reluster" the paint since they didn't have a clear coat.

The new one will be cleared and will fade and stay that way as patina.
