Yep, the cig lighter charger will make sure the battery doesn't drain while you're running Waze.

You should be good with power from the cigarette plug.
The trick is to turn Waze off after you are done using it or it will drain your phone when unplugged from power.
Sometimes Waze doesn't play well with other apps that are using the audio system (such as I-tunes) or sometimes it freezes up. In any case the best cure for me is to reboot my I-phone.

I have a USB socket that plugs into the lighter. It's $2-5. I have a few of them, some have one USB ports, some have 2. I usually plug in my phone to charge whenever I get in the car because I use it to play music, navigation, and comms via bluetooth. I have a clip on phone holder that accommodates a variety of widths, and I locked one of my centerstack eye vents with a screw from behind. Honestly, I use Google Maps 99.9% of the time. It has evolved better into monitoring traffic and suggesting bypasses around them. Waze can be a bit power and data hungry.

I have one of those USB socket plugs, and I do use google maps a lot on my home computer, I am old school and print out maps of where things are when taking trips, never know when your GPS will not work and on some roads no cell service either.

The only places I have experienced no GPS service is deep valleys in Western NC and in the SW/West Coast . If you are on a state or interstate highway, you will have GPS. The coverage compared to where it was 10 years ago is night and day.

Have also had trouble in Mtns of NC (MATG), and in northern parts of TN on Cumberland plateau.

I'll let you know when I get there.

I just replaced my Samsung with an LG S20 ( I think. It is a small UHD TV) Gonna USB it into the radio and run WAZE for as long as she can. You might get an Insta update if I get bent.

Check your PM for a IG contact.

Sorry to any I had planned to meet and drive with. Been a hectic week and probably wont be making it down. I got the chance to buy a 240sx I have wanted for ages, and i couldn't pass it up. Again apologies to any and all that I had coordinated with.
