I mounted Conti ECS in that size about 10 days ago. I like them so far, will know more after Sunday (track event).

Yes! They are a very sensible option, good looking, lightweight, good price. Cannot wait to see those on Tick!

Nope. I'll have to disagree with you MLambert. As much as I like Jongbloed's wheels, I definitely like these more. There is something the Jongbloed are lacking that these possess as it seems... Nice wheels though

I'd be interested to see the Bronze Jongbloed next to the Anthracite Evo1... they're both very interesting colors and good looking wheels.
When I thought the Evo1's were out of production (back when I first started wheel shopping after the accident), the Jongadongs moved to the top of the list. I REALLY like the look of them, and thanks to the power of the Internet, I know what they look like on Laser Blue:

Honestly, I liked the smooth curve of the FFD/DTC spokes compared to the Jongbloeds. The Jongbloeds would've made me very happy, but like I said, I've wanted the FFD's for a long time.

I'm curious. They've gotten nice reviews lately.

Me, either. The price from AR was decent. Really hoping these things live up to the hype!

Great choice. I prefer the Jongbloeds myself, but the FFD's will look great.

I'd have been happy either way, but:

1.) I could get wheels and tires already mounted if I bought the FFD's instead of having to take them and do it separately
2.) I've been wanting FFD's looooong since before the Jongadongers came along

Bryan, I understand the anxiety about putting time and money into the car, believe me. When you start getting into the tough stuff, keep making progress, it will make you more confident and feel more accomplished in the end. Reach out for help if you aren’t sure.

I've already got a couple buddies lined up to help me take the car apart and put it back together (especially the welding part--the headlight panel is held in by spot welds that have to be drilled out to remove the old part).

Not sure if I said this but really sorry this happened, I really liked seeing your car at MATG and am glad you are putting it back together. Hope to see you again at the next MATG!

I'll be there one way or another. The Tick SHOULD make it unless I find that things are absolutely incapable of being fixed. He won't look pretty, that's for sure.

For those keeping tabs: I've bought all of the essentials that I THINK I should need. If you're curious what that entails, read here (Check the second tab).

    Hey Bryan,
    It's almost spring time.
Get a blessing from the wife to get it done since you worked on the basement over the winter. Set yourself free!
Tell the wife how nice it will be to take her on a convertible drive. Get the garage time nod from her and feel free to get it finished.

Hope to see you at MATG.

Full disclosure: my wife has been SUPER supportive--about as much as someone who is definitely not a car person can be (her only trip to MATG was in a Nissan Altima because my old Miata was laid up, but she firmly supports me getting my one "me time" trip a year). She basically said "I know you love the car and are confident you can get it put back together. Get it done, don't bother me with the details, but BE REASONABLE (my emphasis, not hers)."

I've got someone lined up to weld in the headlight panel for me (he's the friend who was nice enough to put The Tick on his trailer so I could get it home from MATG), and at least a couple other friends who are coming to help me with other major assembly/disassembly tasks. This car would have been sold for scrap without them!

I'll be at MATG this year one way or another. The Tick should be there, even if he's not pretty.

Bryan, thought you might like to know the Continentals were really quite good at the track today. Not as laser-focused like some extreme performance tires, but very respectable in that company.

In the heavy rains we had yesterday, they were confident around town through standing rain on the freeway.

I think you will like them a lot!
