    NA vs NB fuel lids

Was originally thinking of buying a Zoom fuel lid for my NB; however the cleaner look of Runabout Type I fuel lid is really appealing to me lately. Unfortunately these seem to be produced only for NA, which makes me wonder, would an NA one fit okay-ish or be made to fit?

According to THIS: "The bolts' layout, the actual size of the door and the locking mechanism are identical between the NA & NB. The "only" difference is the rear fender/wing, where the door is located. The NB wing is more flat and the NA is curved. The door's tripod base height had to be redesigned. Higher on one side and lower on the other. Cut & bend is the solution."

    Anyone tried it?

Bit of guinea pig here, as I could not find any data points. Bought one for myself and after 13hrs of work today, decided to install it. Short answer, it fits.

Long answer will have to wait till tomorrow.

The outline of the Runabout lid is almost the same as the NB one. The real issue comes from the subtle differences in the frame underneath. The NB fender is sloping more upwards, therefore the whole thing sits in a wrong angle. Moreover, the "legs" are of wrong length, and the Runabout lacks the part that flexes providing springing action on the NBs. I could massage it but it would not be proper; so I bought a spare OEM NB lid. I will remove both lids from frames, and then use the Runabout lid on the OEM NB frame, essentially making the only Runabout NB lid I am aware of!

The gaps are more hidden on a dark color, black, dark blue, dark green, but would probably look bad on white, the dark colors help hide a lot.

I have a Zoom on my NB and it doesn’t fit perfectly, maybe it’s actually designed for an NA? I like the look of it but always wondered why it doesn’t sit completely flush to the body.

Might be; although Zoom has both a NA and a NB-specific version. Runabout on the other hand comes only in NA fitment to my knowledge.

Any of yall put an NB lid on an NA? I bought a Brainstorm one thinking itd fit but it doesn't at all. Maybe I am doing something wrong? Felt like I should ask you guys before trying to return it

Edit: nevermind. They will not fit NA at all
