I love the car but having dealt with Seattle's traffic, no way I'd go with a manual for my DD again.

I DDd 3 manuals in my time living in LA, only the NA with 8# flywheel and ACT extreme clutch was tiresome.
The nice thing about all the BMWs Ive owned, the torque down low and manual transmissions are awesome creeping in traffic.
If we had received the 1-series hatchback like most of the world, I probably would have one already.
Modify one of these with an engine swap.

That pacer probably gets more attention than your stilted Vette.

99% of the 1-series we got here are hatches. Coupe ones go for at least 50% more nowadays in the used market, and I find them way better looking too.

Is it on the ground under its own wheels?Originally Posted by Agent[emoji1282
The wheels are attached to the suspension which is attached to the frame which is suspended by jack stands. Technically, everything is connected to the ground via gravity.

Small updates. Got around to adjusting the driver door. I assume one of the POs tried adjusting it to account for a worn out latch. I replaced them with NB2 latches and cables when I changed out the door cards.
I used some paint sticks on the sill to get the gaps right and support the door when I relaxed the hinges.
This isnt where I put the stick, it was on the sill plate and I closed the door to rest on it, but this pic demos the idea and the gap is consistent.
Had to readjust the striker and bushing, no big deal.
Gaps look better, door closes a bit better too.
With the bumper off, I could finally remove the unused factory fog lamp harness cleanly. Ill find the brackets and combo switch to sell as a PnP kit soon.
Also while I was adjusting the door, the fender and wheels were off, I noticed a good bit of oil was leaking from the dipstick tube where it goes into the oil pan. I suspected a flattened or torn o-ring. Once I removed the tubes bracket, it was too easy to pull it from the pan. Sure enough, it_was_flat. Swapped it out from my o-ring assortment and reinstalled. I watched it a while with the car idling and it was sealed. 22 years was a good run for that little bastard.

Good catch.

I kind of need to readjust my passenger door after the Strong Arms. Problem is, really don't want to take the stupid fenders off again. For as little a deal as it really is, it's just a royal pain.
The paint sticks is such a simple idea, I'm embarrassed I didn't think of it myself.

I understand. I put this off for similar reasons. Honestly, I probably dont have as much to remove as you. I have modified my inner liners and I dont have fog lights. However, once I got the car in the air on jackstands, it wasnt so bad.
