Great timing!
Great timing!

Don't ever disturb a sleepin' dawg. How would you like it if I took the same picture of you?
No todo que es oro brilla.
More than half of my pictures of that dog are of him sleeping in similar situations.
First track event in the car. I considered it a test and tune/shakedown.
It passed with flying colors.
My only regret was not having my race seat and harness installed to hold me in place better.
The weather was gor-geous!
The Xidas, all the mods and updates held up terrific! This car is noticeably faster than the NA.
The Continental ExtremeContact Sports were surprisingly GOOD! Heavy springs rains left a lot of standing water which they handled great. The track was dry and clean, they were very, very good; crisp, communicative, GRIPPY, and very responsive.
Had a great time with great friends, lots of laughs! Got to talk with Joe Alphonso (R*Speed owner) for a good while at the track today too, great to see him again.
I hope to find some more pictures soon.
One of my friends gave me a little gift at the track, which I promptly put on my toolbox when I returned home this afternoon.
Its like they know me or something.

Looks like a lot of fun, and glad it went well for you!
Thanks for the info on the tires! I"Ve got the dz102s on now, but don't think they'll last much longer, so I have been doing some looking around, budget for tires is minimal due to the stuff going on now, so I just have to hope they last me another year, but if not I'll at least have an idea of what my options are

Hmm..I don’t know if I have any pictures of you. I spent more time driving than normal at this event, so the pictures are lacking, but my track time and fun was through the roof!

No worries Danny! You SHOULD be driving more at these events.

I didnt run a full schedule this event, wasnt planning to, but I was really pleased with the time I put in. I definitely need new engine mounts. I need to get another pyrometer to log some tire data. I am running stiffer settings on the Xidas than I did with the NA and I feel more comfortable with it.
I got a few laps getting a huge head of steam on the back, saw speeds around 110 before braking into T1. My NA was 95-100 through there.
I also ran registration, was accidentally double-booked for instructing, and one of those two students was late arriving, setting up, and not ready for the first session. It really irritated me. I wished I took the other student, an older guy with track experience, driving a Cobra replica. I passed him to another instructor who had a similarly powered car to get him familiar with the track. I wanted him to get a better customer experience.
My student was driving a Miata for the first time, having come from Audis. He had never experienced locked wheels under heavy braking before, all his cars have had ABS. :/
His late arrival and prep negated the face to face time I like to use for orientation, goals, and general knowledge. I was not happy but I was glad he was experienced enough to pick up the concepts he was being taught and listened very well.
