    Maruha Motors extended top hats

Have a set coming for the rear. These are extremely high quality stamped steel, same as the NB2 OEM ones really albeit extended by 20mm.

Price is kinda awesome too, and shipping rates are quite reasonable.

Plus Maruha is awesome to deal with!

Dang...if I knew those existed, I might not have spent $150+ on the Good-Win Racing hats!

Yup I had no idea Maruha has these. Bookmarked for the near future.

I also wish they had better spring rates on their BC suspension...

    Define "better"

Also, talk to them. Their BC can accommodate from 4 up to 10 or 12kg/mm springs as far as I am aware. I am going to run those on their lower end (6/4 front/rear respectively)

That translates to 9.8/6.2 kg/mm. I believe that out of the box they come with 8/6kg, however the rates you specified can be covered by their damping characteristics. Might worth sending them a question

Yeah, the front rates are lower than I'd like them to be. Same issue with Ohlins. Maruha carries a high rate package, but those are stiffer at 10/8 and that wouldn't be nice on the street.

I'm curious if anything would be gained by using these with the Xida GS or XL? Retain longer shocks, more travel, and not slammed ride height?

The roads here in Maine are pretty awful in places, so I'm trying to determine what I want to replace my R package Bilstein's with, without lowering the car too much.

    Anyone a suspension geometry guru?

I've thought about this - Xida Race vs Xida GS+extended hats. The GS ends up being $200 less, but I end up back with the Xida Race because of my ride height. If you plan on running 5.5"+ pinchweld because of the rough roads, you may be able to get away with just the GS.

All depends on your desired ride height and rates, as a function of the top mount and the shock length. Thus, you need to define the former before making any conclusions on the latter.

Yes, send them an e-mail, this is what I did too. They may take a couple of days to reply (small shop) but they are extremely kind and helpful, always a pleasure to deal with.

    You can email Maruha directly.
They'll give you a price and invoice it to you.
