    '94 1.8 Miata

    Well... i bought another MX5
Started missing my first mx5, a Black NA:

So I decided to look for an NA as a winter/drift/track car.
A couple months ago i finally found one that was mostly what i was looking for, a '94 1.8 Canadian Miata that wasn't too expensive.
One of the previous owners got sponsored by vmaxx. They added some of their parts (Xtreme coilovers and big brake kit), put on a wrap and used it as a show car for Essen Motorshow.
Well i really hate cars like this (Badly executed 'builds' that mostly sees shows) so my plan was to remove all of the rice and make it better (IMO).
Some people will probably hate what i did, but the wrap was already really badly done and also time took its toll on it.

Couple photos from when it was just done:

Before I started using it i decided to do some stuff to it and also remove the wrap.

The previous owner installed a NB dash.
Even though I don't mind the NB dash, I like the prefacelift NA dash more.
Had one saved from a car that I stripped so I installed that.

While the dash was out i swapped the heater core for a NB one.

Didn't want to do any big maintenance to the engine but it needed it and the transmission didn't shift as smoothly as it should.
So i swapped in a BP5A earlier then i planned

    Out with the old.

    NB engine with NA Parts.

And back in with a lightweight flywheel and a NB trans.
    Also replaced the radiator.
The spark plug leads and the radiator hoses will be replaced later!

After i got it running again i started removing the wrap

And this is how it currently sits

I strip mx5's regularly so I have some more parts saved for it that will be installed later.
    Like these Work Equips:

    Much better with a lip

Also added a Joy Fast handbrake handle and Tomei shift knob to the interior.
Need to pull the dash again so thats why the interior isn't completely assembled yet.

Some of the big parts that i've been hoarding for this car

Received a nice package with jdm goodies

Finally swapped the Vmaxx xxtreme coilovers for some Meisterr Zeta-S that came from a parts car.
Wasn't looking forward to this because when vmaxx fitted the coilovers they didn’t bother to use any anti seize.... So had to do some cutting before i could swap the coilovers.

Yes i put them on with the crusty looking springs
Plan is to swap them for some Swift springs.

Now i can't wait to put the Equips back on!

    Haha

One of the previous owners got sponsored by vmaxx (Europe i think?). So they put on some of their parts and used it as a demo car on Essen Motorshow in germany.
No idea why they put on FM stickers, haven't found anything from them on the car.

I guess they put it on just because it sounds cool... germans are simple like that

I love what you did to the car, you keep making it better

Wow forgot to keep this up to date
Alot has changed.. but ill keep going where I left this thread.

Changed the open diff for a Torsen2.

Swapped over the stub shafts. I like the two piece axles so ofcourse i wanted to keep them.

    Got a matching hardtop

Finally received my GCfab GCR1 rollbar

    Obviously installed it immediately

At the end of 2019 I finally did the first drift day in the NA.
Didn't feel great, had a weird understeer problem that I never had in any of the MX5's that i've had.
But still had a blast, nothing better then throwing a rwd car around

Downside of doing wet drift days

    Back to summer mode.

    Scored some crusty Autoblaze mirrors.

Managed to get them looking OK for now.

Found a second hand but unused Garage Vary headlight cover.

Have been running the Equips for a couple years and also didn't really fit the look that I wanted anymore so it was time to look for something else.
    So I scored these 14x6 and 14x6.5 +6 Advan A3A.
Sadly never released as 4x100 so using adapters.

Thats it for now! Will be back later

Changed the MeisterR coilovers for BC racing.
Had these laying around because i decided to build my NB back to stock and eventually sell it.
The springrates (6k front and 5k rear) of the MeisterR where to soft for my needs, they were great for daily driving tho.

Rattlecanned the Garage Vary cover black.

    Test fitted the A3A.

Polished and painted these myself, it took a couple of days but actually enjoyed it.

And fitted to the car with 15mm adapters.

We all had to do stuff to our cars so why not do it together.

    brapbrap

    Finally found some Bomex skirts.
    Fitment is really nice.

It was time to finally ad power windows. Hate working on the doors so kept delaying this, but started to really mis it.
Glad that i've saved the doors of my first NA, door harness was missing some wiring.

A track pretty close to me finally started doing drift days again. its a small but technical track.
It was nice to finally drift on a track that isn't an oval (Not a lot of tracks in the Netherlands sadly).
Still had weird understeer problems tho.

Bought a pair of Hoshino Impuls, they really needed some work.

    Aaaand did another drift day.
