I think they might even be available in a 15x7.
Agreed. When I first put them on they looked pretty bulky up close. Better from a distance though. From what I have read, they are supposed to be darn near indestructible too.
15 x 7 are a bit easier to find, like the set MX5Wisher wrote about.
I was looking for something with the factory et45 or as close as I could get to it.

Anyways, back to vote4pedro's awesome build thread. Is this car getting the M2-1001 treatment or will it be a M2-1002 replica or is it kind of a hybrid of the two along with your own personal customization?

If I were talented enough to tackle such an install project I would. To have someone do it for me would be too costly.

I found a gauge panel in 2015 that RS Products was selling on a limited basis - an M2 Type.
It is waaaay easier to install this and keep it LOOKING M2-ish. The panel is textured (hard to tell in website pic). I also have new OEM 90-94 real oil gauge and sending unit to replace the electronic one in the 1996.

It has been awhile since I have posted. A lot of mechanical stuff has been done, like the overdue timing belt. I went and had the cam cover polished to install when the timing belt was done. Lettering was removed from it, but I think it goes well with the Nielex M2 oil cap that I picked up from Randy - Thanks Man!…

Along with the timing belt and water pump, I put in a Koyo radiator with new radiator hoses - heater hoses and a new cam angle sensor seal as well.

I also had the transmission worked on since the throw out bearing started a high pitched squealing recently. A new rear main seal was done when a new clutch and ACT fly wheel were added. Only problem with the Exedy clutch was that it came with really cheap looking china made bearings (one actually had a bit of side movement to it).

So I bought some Timken bearings to replace the china parts. I found the slave and clutch cylinders were also leaking a bit as well, so they were serviced at the same time.

Synthetic trans oil was added and things were topped off with a Mazdaspeed A-Spec short shifter that I rebuilt before installation.

Just an FYI, the dust boot I used is for a 2006 miata, but it fits perfectly and costs less than the year specific NA dust boot too.

Now that the main miata mechanical issues have been addressed, I am going to tinker with some other stuff. I actually found my old HKS super power flow 1.8 air filter assembly which I had planned on using.

That was until I was searching on Yahoo! and I found a used, but intact ARC 1.8 air cleaner. It is similar to the Mazdaspeed unit, just not gold in color. It even came with a new ARC filter.

I am still cleaning up all of the road dirt and grime from engine compartment. I hope to get some pictures of it up soon.

Dam nice little update for us all! You'll love the ARC box the sound is awesome and looks so nice whenever you open the engine bay. I have both Mazdaspeed and ARC boxes, The Mazdaspeed box definitely has a better top end than the ARC box but i think its because the mazdaspeed box has the panel on top of the filter and it funnels air inside instead of letting air go over the box, but i do enjoy the ARC box more because its that much louder. I also have a A-Spec short shifter to install I hear its awesome!

    Also here is my setup.
