5,000 rpm - there be torque here!
Is this a factory NA rear spoiler? How to remove?
I have the same rear spoiler as this picture. Same color too!
1st question: Is this a factory/dealer installed rear spoiler?
2nd question: How to remove?
I tried to remove it this past weekend to test fit the Mazdaspeed A-Spec type II wing.
I found one mounting stud/nut in the center of the trunk and tabs on each end that wrap around the trunk edge which are held on with Philips screws. I could not find any other fastener locations.
After these fastening points were removed the spoiler would not budge and flex away from the trunk in any way.
I did not want to force it, especially with having the flaky Crystal White paint.
* Did I miss some fasteners?
* Maybe it is also bonded or taped down?

4,000 rpm - entering the fun zone
That is all...there will be a plethora of double sided tape on it as well holding it nice and snug...Spoiler is an "R" Package Spoiler...

6,000 rpm - mere mortals would shift
FYI best way to detach something attached with double sided tape is with a piece of fishing line, cutting your way across it

My humble advice is to find a second trunk lid for the A-Spec wing. Then swap when the mood strikes. Hang it on the garage wall as art in the meantime.

Keep the trunk lid on your miata, because you need it to be firmly in place to pull fishing line across the underside
heat up your spoiler with a heat gun or hair drier
use some adhesive remover, DSR-5, Re-Mov, Goo-Gone, turtle wax gum & sticker remover, etc.
Squirt some of the liquid adhesive remover under the wing, let the adhesive remover work at de-bonding for about 60 seconds
Get a heat gun or hair drier and heat up the spoiler/wing on the car
Use some fishing line and pull it across the underside of the wing in a pulling and left right sawing motion.
once the wing is off youll have some sticker tape residue, just use some adhesive remover, DSR-5, Re-Mov, Goo-Gone, turtle wax gum & sticker remover, etc.
Some folks also use solvents, and degreasers like WD-40, these will work faster however it attacks your paint, so unless you plan on repainting your trunk you might stay away from the WD-40 or other harsh chemicals.
