    1991 BRG Worth?

Just graduated, and moving for work. I have four cars that are being condensed down to 2 as I can’t afford to keep two cars in the city as space is limited. I have a 1991 Miata with 45,000 miles, and all service and maintenance records as well as miscellaneous things like window sticker and even the original purchase order dating back to 1990. Has original hardtop, no dents or dings, no rust.

The only negatives I can pinpoint on the car (as I have OCD when it comes to cars) are :

1: The Tonneu cover has left some scratches on the dash
    2: The aftermarket radio

Holy shit this is very clean!! I just picked up (end of February) a 1991 BRG It had 32k Miles, insanely clean and well documented, and I paid $6500. Grant it I think I got super lucky because it came with hardtop, the optional CD Player,Cruise control and ABS. And to be honest this particular Miata is a collectors item so it really wont lose value. Just do your best to find any imperfections to get the cost down for example the floor mats are not original and the hood latch appears to be sideways.

I would list it on "Bring a Trailer" at NO RESERVE and let it roll.
Nice BRG's have brought good money this year.
You can search the site for some comparison sales.

I feel so dumb I thought you wanted to buy it haha. But do what quest said put it on BAT and you'll get at least 10K (Judging from all the other BRGs I have seen on BAT.)

I'd say $10-12k but the BAT idea is the right one. I'd likely source an OEM headunit for cheap as the higher end is likely looking for as close to original as possible.

Marco, I cannot believe you got yours, with hardtop for such a steal!! You're lucky you're a student or I'd be chastising you for daylight robbery. Haha

How in the world do some sellers in 2019 not know to do 20 minutes of research online to know what their car is worth.

Every time I see it Im like wow I own that. It does have its little tiny scratches and pin sized dents but for what it is I am definitely not complaining.

I have done my research, but all the data seems to be pretty sporadic. I asked this same question awhile ago, and was told $6000 - $8000.

Sorry, I didn’t mean you! A 32k miler with hardtop would have fetched plenty more than $6,500. In CA, the prices are higher and $6k doesn’t buy a clean low mileage car without a hardtop!

It's definitely rare to see the crash pad in such good condition. They are basically all discolored now.

what is the location, that also is important, I wont mess with cars from the rust belt area of the USA, I am also OCD about a cars condition vs the asking price.

The bottom line is still what is someone knowledgeable willing to pay for the car depending based on what the person intends to do with the car. Some people think of as a car an asset that can increase in value, while others believe that a car is a consumable asset to be used without as much concern for future value.
