For those with ZOOM Centre Consoles...

...are the sides of your centre console wrapped in leather or is it painted with matte paint?

I'm looking at purchasing the Zoom Type 2 Centre console very soon but I'm at a loss as to which finish I'd like the side of the centre console to be

    https://rev9autosport.com/zoom-type-...r-console.html

On Rev9 website, you can either have it in matte black paint or you can opt to have it in leather.

    three questions;

    1) if going with the matte black option, will the centre console sit flush with the tombstone?
    2) if going with the leather option (I'm looking at black leather) , again, will the centre console sit flush?
    3) how good/bad is the colour match against the OEM tombstone plastic?

Sides of mine are covered in vinyl and love it. For me the fit is great despite some rumblings I'd heard from a couple people who weren't happy.. not actually sure of the issue they were experiencing. I'm running a Nielex tombstone so can't comment on the color match with a standard one.

Perhaps Zoom's Rakuten page will give you a clear overview of the options?

Have you got a close up of the sides on your centre console?

    Thanks Pete! Much appreciated.

Gotta say, it appears that it doesnt fit as nice as the OEM one Wonder if some modification can be done to make it fit better

I mean, it'll never fit like the factory console; it's a completely different profile. It was made to fit Zoom's own tombstone.

Even with the Zoom tombstone, fitment on the right side is a bit off. But the left side somehow aligns with the tombstone

MIATA...incredibly fun to drive - as that is its only purpose for being.

what you can do is bend the metal bracket where the centre console is screwed on, particularly on the right side so that you can push the console down further on that side to align with the tombstone.

I'd recommend getting the cheapest of the console, where it is just black painted like this

and have it wrapped with genuine leather like this

WOW that looks great! I like the trim stitching and the use of the eunos boot shifter surround.

You could buy the cheapest one, sand both tombstone and console down, then repaint

That’s what I plan on doing
