Thanks! The S2 Bumper does add alot of style for a front bumper but i'm also a bigger fan of the barchetta bumper. Interestingly enough, I've noticed that most owners with S2 bumpers wish they had an barchetta bumper haha.

As for future plans... well going by my title it would seem that I'm opting for a retro theme, although I don't want my car to look too...conservative? Or too aggressive for that matter. So the real objective is to strike a balance between a retro build while also having some aggressive inputs. The barchetta will give the car a nice simple retro look and I can balance it out with other bits and pieces to give more aggression (check out my next post below to see how I'll look to achieve that ;) ).

Finally collected all the parts that will be going in for paint! Starting off with rev9 flares. Small, subtle with a hint of aggression and should suit my other set of wheels which are currently getting a full restoration (no spoilers on them for now but it is 1 of 3 rare parts I own!). Apologies for the poor quality pics in this post, they were all taken on a whim. Test fitting the rev9 flares..

Rev9 Spoiler. Finding a genuine R package spoiler was taking longer than I had hoped and with most of them requiring attention, I decided to grab one of these. Plus it makes sense for it to get painted at the same time as the other parts. Only downside was that it wasn't exactly cheap.

Another piece that's going in for paint..(2/3 rare parts I own). i'm sure those who know their rare parts know what these are. More on this to come!

Lastly, a Garage Vary Headlight Type 2 Passenger Lid. Just to add a bit more styling to my car given that the barchetta bumper is quite minimalistic.

    Stay tuned!

Thanks mate, have lurked around your build thread and it's nice to see someone undertaking a thorough restoration, no stone unturned approach. It's a nice reminder for me to not just focus entirely on modifying.

Such a nice looking Roadster! How do you like the Corn's exhaust?

Can't wait to see what else you have in store with this build

Thanks! It's a work in progress but I do have a vision in mind, for the exterior at least!

The corn's exhaust is great, don't think I could find a substitute haha. This one is the 50mm version which is a bit louder/rarer/free flowing and produces a more 'crisp' tone. I did have a 47mm version previously which had more of a rasp to it and sounded equally as good, if not better.

    Update!

Thought I’d reveal one of the very rare items I’ve managed to acquire. In case you haven’t figured out from the earlier picture, they’re a pair of RS Active Type 2 headlights! These may be possibly be the only set in Australia, or at least one of very few around here. Very low profile but more importantly, the shrouds they come with is what makes them stand out from other low profile kits. I do also love the look of the type 2 lenses. I’ve sourced some osram nightbreakers for the time being and hopefully they will do the job of providing decent light output. Although I’ll be looking to go with Hid’s after hearing another owners experience with H3 bulbs not lasting long at all.

The lenses were fortunately in really good condition as you can see although there was some surface rust on the headlights that I wanted to brush up before installing them on my car, even though it won’t be noticeable once on the car. Picked up some different grades of sandpaper grit from Bunnings before painting it black. Excited to fit this piece on once my shrouds are back from the paint shop!

haha I reckon you can expect to find one or two pop up each year on yaj. So it's not entirely in the unobtainium bracket.

Nice score! From the looks of it, the brackets/shrouds could easily be reproduced if need be (and I could assist if you are so inclined). I hate knock-offs, but with some parts being out of production, sometimes making repros is the only way to restore them.

Thank you for such an offer! Fortunately my shrouds are in good condition although I was being extra cautious to make sure they don’t sustain any damage since I wouldn't be able to find another pair. But very pleased to know now that someone is willing to assist with reproducing them
