Would it be sacrilege to step up 14” SSR Star Sharks

Been thinking about this for quite some time now. Right now they’re 14x6.5 +13 and since I have plans for force induction later I don’t think 14 in a such a weak width would cut it.

Should I step up to 15” and go wider or should I just go wider an inch to 14x7.5?

Another thing to consider is that I’m getting a wilwood dynalite kit with 11” rotors next week for the front and I’m 99% sure 14” won’t work anyways.

Or maybe.. I just get a nice new set of 15” wheels and store these away for eternity??😢

I've considered turning my Sharks into 15s for years. Tire selection is beter, control with the turbo is better, just everything is better... except for the wheels. I've kept them the stock 14" size because I love how they look. I also fear the already-small center would look silly with 15" barrels. My current plans are for a nice set of 15s to augment the Sharks.

I can say that it's not a big issue running 14s and a turbo. I have no traction at the top of 2nd, but that's okay. I can lift a little or enjoy the car crabbing sideways till I shift.

I considered it for a long time as well. It would have been ludicrous to cut up the 8J I had, but a more undesirable size maybe, like 5.5J or possibly 6J.

You definitely won't be able to fit Dynalites. Powerlites on 11" sport rotors was the biggest I could manage.

Unfortunately that wasn't enough for the V8, so I have 15s now.

Do you still have these sharks, or did you sell them?

Yes, Adam that's also what I fear as well. Sharks on a 15" would look out of place. The question now is what 15" wheels are worthy?

yeah the face on 13 inch sharks is the same as 14 inch face, so really would be like a triple step.. a bit extreme IMO. id leave em be and get some nice 15s, maybe some wats or something

On the off-chance you see this... more info on the brakes? Looks like a spacer ring was needed?

FM LBBK on sport rotors (so really 10.6") with 15mm spacer. I think a spacer is needed even with stock calipers on sport rotors.

Just use 15” much better tire selection, I swapped out my 14” bbs just for better tires.
