Yeah, I gave up on it. The other ones hold good enough for now. It really is amazing how different the car feels now and I am not trying to oversell it. I guess the combination of everything I have on the car has transformed it into a pretty solid car. I am extremely happy with the way the car is now and I just want to take the long way home everywhere now.

This makes me happy to read you are enjoying the car.

I’m finding as I age that taking the time to get appropriately top-flight equipment for what I truly use this car for really enhances my enjoyment. Sometimes, it’s a bunch of little stuff, sometimes it’s expensive, but the reward is sweeter because of experience.

I agree. I don't think there is much left to do anymore other than a few rattles in the interior. I need to get new door cards but am having trouble sourcing some. I had reached out to Alex before but I never heard back from him. Jason in Apex (Garner now) doesn't have any. I had thought about biting the bullet and buying the door cards from CarbonMiata but was thinking that much carbon fiber might be overkill in the interior. Then I would still have to put holes for the speaker vents and the pull strap. Not sure if it's worth it.

I keep forgetting you are looking for door cards. What color and model?

99 NB1 in black. I have power windows so no need for the hole. I saw some in Winston Salem that were very clean but were for manual windows.

Here are the pictures of the hardtop brackets:

You can see that some of the holes that aren't being used to the latches were filled. I didn't like how they were just empty so I bought some interior plugs from Lowe's and placed them in there. I can easily remove the plugs if I decide to ever go back to the OEM latches. I need to also maybe find some new rear interior pieces so I can cover up the ridiculous cut I had for the BeatRush latches.

So I was able to find this:

Ryoku Rob Rear Tow Hook. Very nice piece. Very well made.

I installed it. Very easy to do. One 19mm bolt.

So while I am amazed with the craftsmanship of the piece, I am not sure I like it on my car. It sticks out a bit farther than I would like. I will more than likely be putting this for sale and maybe look at other alternatives.

I liked mine, but had to be careful of rapping my shin on it. I removed it when I installed the rear diffuser (left my front one in).

So another care package came in.

Genuine Project G Bikini Top with Bikini Bar along with some extras.

I finally was able to score one of these for a great price. There was no way I was going to let this pass. I have made a couple in the past but was never really satisfied with the way mine came out. I will admit though, the ones I made definitely looked better than another company's Keenitop that is out on the market. Once I am able to get the hardtop off, I will work on getting this fitted.

Another package came in. This time, all the way from Lithuania.

Super fast shipping and packaged with care.

Look at all the cardboard that was added to the box so the lens and LED wouldn't move around and break. Awesome.

So I took a break from work and went down into the garage to install them.

    Smoked lens, old LED:

Huge difference. Was thinking I may have been good with the smoked lens and the new LED but whatever. It works great. Highly recommend buying from dandek.net. Wouldn't have even known if I didn't see it on Greasemonkey's Misfire build thread so big props to him for bringing him into the light.

You can even see my new passenger door card I got from Jason at usedmiatapartsonline.com. He is "local" so I went to pick it up. He moved so again so now he is way out in the sticks. The door card was pretty dirty so I spent a good amount of time cleaning it. The door card still looks pretty dry even after adding some protectant so I am hoping that gradually putting some more on there will finally get rid of the dry, ashy look.

Also finally received my COPs from Detroit. After a month and A LOT of run arounds. Not sure I will order from them again but we will see if this was worth the hassle. I haven't installed them yet but I will today after work.

Here they are in all their glory.

What trouble did you encounter with Fab9? I am about to order some COP’s too.

Unfortunate with Fab9. I've never had an issue, but I know they sometimes get a backlog on their COPs. They mention it (or did?) on their site.

So finished the install yesterday. Install was pretty straight forward. I would say the hardest part was getting taking the plug off to connect the harness. I have seen others remove the coil packs from the back but I left them in there for now. Car idles real smooth, revs smooth and acceleration feels better. Not saying it's really noticeable but it's enough for me to notice. The only downside is now my remote start won't work for some reason. I need to take the car back to the stereo shop that installed it to see what they can recommend. But here are the pics. No install pics but you guys pretty much know that already.

    After:

I need to hit my engine up with degreaser and clean it up. I have been debating on getting another valve cover and doing a different color but we will see.

The wires for the coil packs? Those are still attached to the coil packs. For the NB1, the connection for the harness is at the front of the engine under the cam angle sensor.
