This will probably be done the next time they yellow. That will give me time to possibly get some projectors retrofitted and do it all at once.

So I did a few things. After seeing KFJ working on his AC, I decided to hit mine up. Ended up recharging it a little. Now it’s cold. Definitely need it down here.

Thermometer showing how cold it was getting. Mind you, this was also on a warm and not hot day.

I was also tired of seeing my suede headliner sink so I decided to make a new one. I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up some material.

After tracing my previous template, this is what I came up with.

All in all after $25 spent on materials, I think it turned out pretty good. I kept my old template just in case I decide to make a new one later on.

    Noice.

We have a bit of a hot spell here. A week straight of 90+ degree weather. I think my AC is stronger than in my wife’s RAV4. ;)

Thanks Steven. It will be hot this weekend but I will be up north. Probably humid as hell.

When did you guys get a Rav4? No more german wagon?

No, sold it last autumn. We were looking at 4runners, but she liked the size and features on the RAV. I insisted on the V6 & AWD. She likes the power that engine makes.

Nice! I had thought about downsizing but I know that I will longing for the size and power of what I already have. Plus, the MPG isn't that far off of what I have seen the Japanese SUVs get. Another plus, I can tow pretty easily. You will see it pulling Sigma X's NB at Charlotte in July.

The Search for Driving Perfection....A Miata Story.

I had forgotten versions of the RAV4 came with a 270hp V6, 5sp auto and AWD. That’s what we have and that little bugger hauls ass when you tip into the throttle. It was the fastest car in Toyota’s US lineup for a number of years...lol.

MPG is 1 less than the 4 cyl versions, but the V6 is very smooth and relaxed on the freeway. IIRC, it cruises at ~2000 RPMs around 70 mph. I got about 25mpg driving to Birmingham and back last month.

So a late update. I did a Kart Enduro with Ethan (SigmaX) at VIR. A lot of fun and I think I learned a lot, especially being my first time in a real competitive environment. Not my video, as my FauxPro didn't turn on, but you can see me with the bright green gloves.

2 hours of racing. Very tiring. We didn't finish last so I felt good about that. Just wished that they recorded individual laps so I can see if I did get faster as the race went on.

A week later, Ethan and I attended the Moss MotorFest. We attended the Friday night pre-party. We took his BMW 1-series. Weather was terrible as it was pouring on the way up but stopped when we got there. They provided food as we got to listen to a panel speak about how Moss started and things like that.

The next day, we ended up taking my NB as it was entered into the show portion. Weather was terrible again. I didn't take many pictures as I am not huge into that but I did get a few things that caught my eye. I also got to meet Tom Matano and get his autograph. Even joked with him and used one of his own sayings against him. He told me nobody has ever used it against him like that and was laughing. It was great to finally meet him and grab his autograph.

Here are some pics of the event:

Not my picture. (Photographer: Mike Lee)

So I went and installed a dash cam into the NB. I was doing a long trip to Philadelphia and wanted something that would document any possibilities. Also, liked the fact that it had a motion sensor when parked and would start recording if anyone walked or moved in front of the car. I found one on amazon that had pretty good reviews and was pretty cheap so I jumped on it.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078LR9ZPX...ing=UTF8&psc=1

I also purchased one of the install kits so it was hardwired and used a 16gb micro SD card I already had.

First impressions: good price, easy to install, picture is pretty decent.

Funny story with the ordering of the cam. I was able to get free same day delivery with Prime. I was waiting for it as I was wanting to install it as soon as it arrived. I got a message around 8pm saying it was delivered but no photo. I went to my front door and it wasn't there. I verified that it was delivered on the app. I went next door to SigmaX's house to see if his outdoor cam caught anything. He said nothing was on the video. I called amazon and they refunded me the money for the cam and said sometimes the delivery service will mark things as delivered and bring it by the next day. They said if it comes, I can discard it, keep it or donate it. I ended up reordering the same thing and it was set for same day delivery. I was in the garage the following day and an older gentleman was out walking and holding a package. He said the package was delivered to him last night. He called them idiots as the street name wasn't even close to each other. 30 minutes later, the other dash cam was delivered. I ended up returning the more recent order but kept the original cam.

So as I was driving to Philadelphia, I noticed that I had to keep formatting the card as I was making my way up North. There were many files on the card that were locked and filling it up. I was wondering if maybe the 16gb card was too small. After arriving in Philadelphia, I started to read a bit more into the issue. It seems that my stiffer suspension and horrible roads up North were making the cam think I was in an accident and saving the recordings. I checked the G-sensor sensitivity and it indeed was set too sensitive. I adjusted and things have been great so far. Another setting I forgot to mess with was the motion detector. This would have helped when my valve caps from my RPF1s were stolen. Ah, you live and learn. I decided next time I head up North and if I have to actually be in the city of Philadelphia, I won't be taking the NB. If I was staying in Jersey, that isn't so bad on the car. I haven't pulled the video off of the dash cam yet as I haven't been driving much since becoming home based. I do have more plans but it may take me a little bit to get them posted here as I have been staying away from computers and devices when I am not working for the most part.

Damnit. You've added another thing to my list of "want to buys." I'd like to see how your impressions of it are as time progresses. I was always surprised at how many of these WEREN'T on the market.

    So.....

What the hell happened to my wheels?!?

Just kidding. Some goodies were sent over.

    Got rid of these.

Installed these. No real pictures during install as I was elbows deep in the installation. Got a lot of help from Ethan (Sigmax) and Chris. Thanks guys!

    Had to do this.

Did it on 540 last night around 8pm. It's a trip how hard these things grip. I was starting to get dizzy seeing how fast you can come to a stop from 80mph. Coming from the stock stuff I had, the difference in feel is amazing. I still have one more box coming. Hopefully this week, I can get another update.

Nicely done! I’ve been happy with those pads on two different Miatas.

Changing over the lines is a good upgrade for feel and safety. Those rubber lines are 20 years old.

    Enjoy!

I also did the transmission, diff and turret fluid but I didn't take any pictures of that either. I used Motorcraft in the transmission and turret. Shifter feels like butter. I used Royal Purple in the diff. Filling the transmission was a pain in the ass. The tube that went into the fill hole kept falling out as I was pumping in the new fluid. Diff was easy. Turret was easy as well. Especially nice with the shorty console. Had a marinade needle I picked up on clearance from Walmart that made oil removal a breeze.
