Junkman Discusses Sealant/Wax Applications - Including the Hype!

In this video, I go into a detailed discussion about sealants, the application of the sealant that I'm using and the hype associated with waxes and their claim to make your paint shine. Wax is a protectant. That is the only thing that I use wax for. I get all the shine that I'm going to get out of my paint from polishing it. In this video, I start with my paint perfectly polished and then I add the sealant. As you will see, there will be no difference with the before and after shots once I'm done. This proves my point. Polishing creates the shine in your paint and wax protects the shine you get from polishing.

Sit back and be amazed as everything you've heard about waxes gets debunked.

I like how you talked about investing time and money with waxes/sealants vs investing time and money with women you date, will there be a junkman's guide to dating in the "Members Lounge" section later? I kidd, I kidd.

great info, I need to invest in a polisher setup now, I would always wash then wax and wonder why I could never get a good shine on the paint.

Great video, I really like your style, it's very watchable (if that makes sense ).
Admittedly I'm not all the way through this one yet, but I'm pretty sure I'll watch more of them.

I don't agree completely, some waxes can darken the finish and really change the look, especially carnuaba based formula, other's are more clear and really let the metallic flakes pop more.

If you can explain exactly HOW these waxes can darken the finish, I am more than willing to listen. Some people have the same opinion but have nothing to back up their opinion (which makes it nothing more than an opinion). In my video, I backed up everything that I said with proof; be it scientific or just good ol' common sense.

I currently use 2 waxes, 1z hart glanz, and sonax liquid wax. Both are supposed to be synthetic/carnuaba hybrids. But my metallic red finish simply looks darker when finished off with the sonax compared to the 1z. I'm not sure what causes the difference, but it's definitely there. Some people thought it could be yellow vs white carnuaba, but looking at the liquid waxes, 1z is actually more yellow in color, while sonax is white.

The effect itself isn't really noticeable on dark solid colors, but on metallic colors, you can definitely tell that some waxes just seem to make the finish darker.

Before I can push that as gospel, I must be able to explain why or how the product makes a difference. To say that I notice a difference when other are having a hard time seeing it just creates confusion. For me to buy it or preach, I must be able to explain it or I'm just voicing my opinion. The only this that I will agree on about wax is that it is a protectant of paint. That I can prove, show and explain.

We might exceed our monthly bandwidth if I post that manual. I am always on the prowl and I make sure and shoot my subjects first before stepping to them with my game. Just look at what caught my attention about these hotties...

Once I spot my subject, mack mode goes nuclear and the hotties are going to end up in the Blue Angel

    Tasty!
