Have always admired these seats from afar.
I would like to hear about their functionality and creature comfort aspect, if you would please.

Thank you all! Day three of wheel time and the Type R's are everything I'd hope for. A couple initial observations...

    * learning to climb into them takes a little practice so glad I ordered the side bolster protectors as I think there will be wear over time
    * the lower seating position is fantastic, immediately adds to the sense of speed
    * they are snug but in a good way.. I'm 6', 170lb with a 31" waist and they fit great with great support in the corners. With my roll bar they don't travel all the way back so don't know what the height cap would be
    * didn't opt for leather based on durability but primarily price... would make the same choice again but can't imagine how incredible it would be with the new leather smell

Here's the side by side pre and post install so you can see how they sit in the car...

One of my regular co-pilots loves em too...

It is probably the GT40 similarity in the seats that has the appeal for me.
I assumed they were lower, had Kirkeys on sliders.
The back looks rather flat, how does it feel ? Had a 6 hour drive yet ?
How do the cooling ventilation buttons feel ?
    Is there enough seat padding?
    What about thigh support ?
Peter, surf, VVT road course setup before the sell off and slow conversion to comfort.

Ha.. the look harkened back to many of the most inspirational cars of my childhood including the GT40. Longest continuous stint has only been 1hr and totally comfortable. Have a four hour round trip for a track day in early May which will be the real test since we have the track from 8-6 on top. The seat back is a bit flat + have read others state they would prefer more lumbar support but I like them as they are so far. I've felt the benefits of the venting at speed (admittedly had limited expectations), cushioning is good though not much thigh support from underneath (legs aren't fully extended with slightly bent knees the bottom of the thighs don't always rest on the seats).

If you're ever in SoCal, let me know as you're more than welcome to check them out. Alternately, perhaps we'll see you at MRLS in Oct?

That's looking great Proyea. Those seats are outstanding but I'd never get my butt into them.

Thanks Mike. When I was exploring options w Nakamae-san, custom sized seats were a no-cost option. I almost added a couple of inches for.. well.. in case the middle age spread came eventually but stuck with standard
