Sucks that you left SC man. No more personal meets halfway. Hahahahaha. Glad that it is working out for you though. Which ever way you decide to go, the car is still going to look good.

Sorry, I didn't see your post until now. For those that may not have seen in the other thread… yes, they got painted. Well, sort of.

I finally (temporarily) painted my flares over the weekend. The red is a very close match - it's Duplicolor GM Brite Red. The only downside is that I ran out of clear, so it has a semi-gloss finish. I just wanted to have them painted at least for MATG. However, I plan to have them professionally done at least before winter rolls around.

They look good from about 10 feet away, have some dust/debris/shit in them, but I didn't want to leave them unpainted or plastidip them. On a second glance at my car, it came out lighter than my test piece. I realized after the fact that there are variances of GM Brite Red. I ran out of the first, correct, darker red and finished them with a shade brighter by accident. Depending on how the light hits them, you may or may not notice.

These photos are also prior to me adding about 3 more coats of clear.

It should be mostly maintenance on the car for a while now, as I had one of the cam bolts break when I tried to get the car aligned the other week. Also, I'm moving into a house with a couple Miata buddies, so that means less money spent on fun things

However, I'm going to MATG so I'll probably do a few small things like an oil change, good wash, etc.

I realized I hadn't been on here in a while, so I checked to see where I left off... since the last update, I've picked up a hardtop from a buddy that was initially plastidip'd black. I removed the plastidip to see how close the red matched. Turns out it was dead on.

Had the headlights go out - turns out the Hellas overpowered the stock harness and fried everything. So, several hundreds of dollars later I had completely new wiring and we were up and running.

I also finally got around to replacing the windshield and getting the car inspected. There are still a few things that need some attention, but they're gonna wait for now. Here's a few more recent pictures.

And the reason for my lack of updates. I'm currently in school (got about 3 months left) and the car is stored back in PA. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get stationed in Japan so I can overnight parts to my brother to store for me until I get back haha. If I end up staying stateside, then I'll likely have the Miata shipped to me.

BUMP No, it's a smoothline hardtop. Thanks! As I was hoping, I ended up in Japan. Going to check out a local shop this weekend to see if I can't find a steering wheel.

Thanks! And to keep things on topic, here's a video clip I took recently before leaving since I still didn't have one of the exhaust.

And a few of the cars I've seen so far.

Of course there are skylines everywhere.
