    Cleaning Hard To get Areas

I cleaned the driver side headlight bucket area with a wet rag, a tooth brush, and a lot of time...

I'm glad I thought about putting car soap in a spray bottle. It made cleaning this a lot faster:

Having trouble with the coolant reservoir being in the way. I might take it out tomorrow and clean under it.

Since this is now a thread, I might as well post the finished product of a few hours of work. sorry about the out of focus shots..didn't realize manual focus was on

as a follow up of the first post

    Headlamp before:

    Headlamp after:

and here's under and behind the assembly:

Could be better but I'm pretty happy with the results. I wish I had a tiny wire wheel so I could get the inside of the spring. There was paint overspray everywhere. so I had to use some steel wool.

The best cleaner for cleaning grimy dirt like that is K&N air filter cleaner. There is no such thing as ocd when it comes to cleanliness just different standards of cleanliness. Its only a few 1' by 1' areas in the pictures. After I clean my engine bay areas I polish them a bit with cleaner wax so they repel dirt so you don't have to clean as often. But you can put that K&N air filter on oily greasy dirt & it will dissolve & wash away the worst gunk & make it look clean. That's my secret cleaner.
