Monthly update Fabbed a cf panel and mounted a Stack ST8130 with some warning and signal lights. Lights are for high beams, battery, check engine and e brake. The top of the tach and signal indicators line up just inside my 350mm wheel.

Of course I haven't had time a wire if all up yet I might actually get some real time to work on everything next month, seriously.

No monthly update, yet. Had to get a smog and stopped to take a couple quick pics of half way decent quality. Didn't really have time to worry about lighting, composition and all that good stuff.

Some real work to start next week, update to follow.

I love that color. The flares. The black top. The everything. Everything complements the Sharks. Love it.

I found a few pics of just after I started I that might as well throw in.

One of the first things I did was strip the carpet out.

Then I took the soft top out and went over to TC Design and had a roll bar welded in. They are very well known in NorCal for their Spec cages. This is essentially the back half of that. I didn't want to go full cage since it's still a street car. Since I was going to paint it body color, it was hit with etching primer first.

Then I borrowed the hard top from my Silverstone since it needed paint also and Red was soft top-less.

Then it was time to start cutting some metal.

And test fit the Tuckin99 N2 flares.

And the Star Sharks. You can see all the paint oxidation and dings.

Then it was time to get into the paint. I don't have many pics of the process. It was long and slow. Fast forward to now.

So up until now I've been doing mostly body work. There haven't been any pics of the engine because there's nothing to see, well just a stock BP. When I first bought this one the plan was to take care of the body since it was so bad off and then probably swap in my old (really old) turbo kit. I already swapped in my 1.8 since the stock motor was toast. My other NA that donated the motor and turbo would then get some needed attention. I found I barely had time to work on 1 let alone 2 so I sold my Silverstone While languishing away at learning body work I decided to sell the turbo and try something different. I was going to do a high CR, ITB 1.9l. After another year passes by, I thought that since I only have 1 NA I might as well go all out on the motor too.

While the body and interior are not completely done, I'm bored with working on it. It's good enough for now. I want to turn some wrenches again. So it's time to get down to business. As the guys at Brightning would say ...

    (serious business)

    Up it goes

    Out it comes

What most of the front half of a Miata looks like spread over a garage floor

And that's where I'm up to now, the front is pretty much stripped out. I'm going to try to dedicate some more time so this won't take 5 years, but that's about all for this week.

Found a few spare minutes to finish cleaning out the front half.

I never painted the engine bay because I knew I'd be pulling the engine eventually. Now it needs a good pressure wash to get ready for prep. I've got a few other things to do before more painting.

    Did some cleaning up inside

Spider webs? No, seam sealer. Messy stuff when you use a wire wheel to strip it out.

loving this one!! im happy to finally see you mounted those Star Sharks, you have had them forever! Are these the same flares from the original AR group buy back in 2005ish? LOL

If so you are way ahead of me now that I switched Miatas. The car looks amazing!! Make sure to enter it in the lottery this month!!
