    F8als NB2 build thread.

Let me just start this thread by saying this probably wont be a very quick build, and this will be an ongoing thing. My fiancee is a little bit against me dropping the amounts of money I would like to on this project.

    Current installed mods:
    CAI
    Mishimoto Aluminum performance radiator
    Mishimoto Silicon Hoses
    165 degree thermostat
    7" slide-out touch screen single-dinn head unit.
    Soft-top delete
    rear o2 simulator
    MSM deck lid and spoiler
    M2 evolution stainless catback

    Purchased but not yet installed:
    Exedy stage1 clutch
    FM Stage2 V-maxx Suspension w/ swaybars
15x8 Rota slipstreams in white (shouldnt say purchased, traded a galaxy s3 and a ham sandwich for them on a local facebook trade/sale group)

    To do:
    s2k antenna
    Project G window spoiler
    matte black body dip
    matte white roof dip
    headers
    cat-delete
    SSK

Picked her up with the hardtop and 135k on the clock for $1500. Not a whole lot wrong with her either, just general maintenance items that hadn't been done in quite some time since the previous owner stopped driving her when he got the M-iev in the background.

The old rotors were scored and really thin. Replaced them with Hart drilled and slotted rotors and put on some Hawk HPS Pads.

Installing the rotors with my friend Logan, (cars previous owner)

Ripped out the stock airbox and put in a Generic CAI. Trying to decide whether i want to go FI on this engine or swap in a mazdaspeed motor since I can get a full swap for about 1900 from Hialeah.

When I got the car, it was really dirty and the paint was kinda fuxxed from a halfbra that wasn't on it anymore. Decided to try chalkboarding the hood since I'm planning on going matte black for the end color anyways.
    Wet sanding the hood

    Primed and sanded:

Primed without chalkboard coats on yet

First coat of chalkboard on and the hood reinstalled, it's looking like I'm going to end up having to use the roll on chalkboard paint with a foam roller to get the finish to look right.

10 picture limit reached, will continue in next post.

Nice build, it reminded me of my car when I first bought my red hardtop.

i can't wait till its a complimenting color scheme. I'm not a huge fan of the tylenol extra-strength look.

Don't worry, It's just a matter of time before you have it painted . At least the paint of your car still looks nice. I have all these annoying dents on my doors, so I have to buy two new doors before I have my whole car and hardtop painted again. I will probably need a new motor by then LoL. BTW, I love the radiator and that's next on my list.

    Talking

My exhaust came in Friday. Spent Saturday morning installing the exhaust, removing the old heat shield, and seafoaming the car.
Hit the bolts and the hangars with wd40 and let it soak for a bit to make removal easier

    Pulled the old exhaust out

    Old and new

    new installed

Started it up and realized that with the silencer in, it sounded terrible. Spent 30 minutes googling how to remove the silencer, and found no decent results other than mangling it with a dremel, or tack welding a piece of hooked bar stock to a pair of vice grips and hitting them with a hammer.

Ended up taking half a broomstick and putting it in the silencer, and then using a piece of coat hanger I bent into a hook to pull the silencer out while using the broom stick to rock it back and forth as i pulled it out. Came out with no damage, completely reusable.

Once it finishes uploading I'll put up the video of the exhaust soundclip/smokeshow from seafoaming the engine.
