    Wasabi - 1991 BRG #477

One of the biggest and literally my first inspiration is/was Wasabi. I’m a sucker for BRG Miatas, let’s get that out of the way immediately. I think I was skimming through Mnet or CR and that is when I first saw Wasabi’s graveyard shot. The photography was well composed and the setting reminded me of resurrecting the car to its former glory.

I was smitten by the color of not only the car, but the calipers and the valve cover. Quite the small British car throwback theme. The reuse of the daisy wheels and just the overall attention to detail piqued my interest and Wasabi became a car I would use as a reference to this day. Some might think it odd, but it is the kiss principle that I enjoy the most about Wasabi. It is the simple, clean look that does it for me and what I try to emulate.

Later was the picture below. It showed me what I love about Wasabi. A tie to the past and to the future of roadsters. I used to own a TR-6 and seeing the two together just clicked with me.

I just hope that Wasabi’s thread keeps getting updates. Hint-hint! I don’t want to have to send another message. Oh, I’d also like to see more of Cherry Bomb.

James has probably the best collection of ideas, parts, and MX-5's I have seen. I really love all of the Miatas he has built, but I would have to say this one is the Top Miata on my list of his!! However I will list the others as well in a separate post, that is if someone else does not beat me to it. Corn's, Zoom, Hayashi, Pitcrew Racing, Tuckin99, Mazdaspeed, you name it, he has it.

Another from the collection, James has the actual car from Car Make Corn's !! Wow so nice and as with his other MX-5's he has added his own personal touches to it.

Rik's black car has been a big inspiration to me throughout the years. Sadly, it was sold a while back. Some info can be found on Nutz and CR.

THE PhatMiata is another muse of mine. This one, TBP, and Rik's black car have probably been my three most consistent muses for the past 14 years of my Roadstering life.

    -edit-
HUGE thanks to those above who mentioned me and Sharka. I'm extremely happy at the idea that we might have inspired others.

Slevin's Miata has always been one of my favorites and one of the reasons I bought a Miata.

Cool thread this Randy and lots of inspiration.

Pics of Roadsters interior pretty much made me decide not to sell my car, and I've been pulling inspiration from his car ever since.
He doesn't have a dedicated build thread as far as I can tell which is a bit of a shame really.
