amazing as always this thread does not disappoint !!
Nice touch with the Craft Square CF side mirrors, and the body components are just as fantastic!!
I had no idea the factory arches are that big for NC miata, lots of room in there, even for the extra rubber you are using!

hey Danny, since you and your team are obviously Rotary engine gurus, I am wondering what your opinion is on this modification to the rotary internals?
Have you tried this or even seen this? Looks promising (yes I know its an old video)

Being the rotary guru you are, I suggested my friend message you regarding rebuilding his renesis engine in his RX8...
Are there any mods you would recommend?
Sorry for the belated reply...the start to 2015 has been a bit hectic.
Yes I had seen this before....what he proposes is logical...however there is more to it than just that and he didn't present any real data (substantiated numbers) as to prove his modifications. Honestly, I'm sure Mazda would have assessed his proposed concepts some time in their 50+ years of development.
Cheers,
Danny

Mazda did a really good job with extracting a good amount of horsepower from this naturally aspirated 13B. Really there's not much too be gained performance wise from modifying this engine. The engine has a massive amount of inlet flow capacity, with limited gains coming from modifying the exhaust ports. However, with the side exhaust ports Mazda did not leave much material around the port to increase the timing and flow properties. It's really just a tickle with gains of not much more than 10rwhp assuming no other mods to the rest of the engine and its ancillaries.
Cheers,
Danny

After WTAC 2014...the NC returned in style to Brisbane care of MR Tuning's transporter.
Having felt it in the car when shifting from 5th to 6th (engine revs flaring) and looking at the data it was pretty obvious that the used clutch was just a little bit too used.
So upon it's return to the workshop the first thing we did was have the clutch overhauled and the worn-out carbon friction plates replaced with readily available sintered metal items from Direct Clutch Services here in Brisbane.
A couple of details that I hadn't posted earlier was the completed heat exchanger inlet duct work....
....and the adjustable front ARB with a nice little rocker-arm arrangement. The remote mounted (in-cab) ARB lever is still to be installed. So the front ARB is currently at full soft.
Cheers,
Danny

This whole process is mind-boggling. I had to push off actually doing work this morning to catch up on this thread. Nothing I have ever done, preparing cars for endurance racing, compares to this level. Not even close. I am extremely honored you have taken the time to post your progress here for us! Absolutely astonishing level of work! If you will excuse me now, I need to find my jaw, it seems to have fallen to the floor.

Can we see some more of that Lime Green Miata with the Work Wheels poking out next to your car on the lift?

Nice, will there be a separate build thread for that, it would most excellent sir

Not too much to report.
Haven't been able to get out to the track at all. Had to cancel last Monday's Club track day @ QR due to work commitments.
Anyhow, work on the aero and composite components has continued albeit at a much more casual pace than last year.
The mould for the hard top has now been completed with the hard top from the car being used as the plug.
This change has made quite a lot of people happy....
Relocating the C125 to the instrument cluster was required as the Defi tacho was just too inconsistent/unreliable in it's function....which is really quite unusual. So I've spent a little time modifying the layout and will continue to do so using Motec's Display Creator.
A few other additions/changes has been the mounting of the Motec plugs in the dash....
...a master cylinder brace...
...and a remote vacuum reservoir.
Cheers,
Danny
Super looking work!!
