'Noir' comes into the light. Slowly...

The princess bows to all that will look.

This is her arriving home after the PO and myself swapped cash, siggys on paperwork and plopped the top on her (he rarely ran the hardtop).

The first time I got to drive her with the hardtop! Woohoo! Would have drove more than the two miles but the blue-meanies might just notice weighted tags on a MX to be out-of-place, just a tad.?.

Hey Randy (Phatmiata). I got you some pics. If they post.

She has her innocence and quirks when I get her. But I want to know what she has at heart.

It takes a few weeks for the right timing. But finally I run her. Hardtop off and soft-top down. Tokico lowing kit, from the owner the PO bought her from, to comfort our ride. Wind blocker in the hoops. Vent on the windshield. Up Pilot Mtn. and the Fancy Gap to N. Wilkesboro BRP run we go.

A front was pushing in and it was 70's here when I left. I'm in jeans and a T. No jacket in the car.

Cut to the chase, we had a blast and there was shrinkage. I did question myself coming back to the house on 421 as the 65 mph shimmy was damaging my ruptured spleen even more ( Don't think I'll be endorsing the lowering kit ANYTIME soon). But, DAMN, those curvies had been fun.

After the ride there were some orders placed. And delivered...

    Now we start...

So I got a slow day at work and got to run 'Noir' into the middle bay...

    And out she came.

Technafit lines and a DOT-4 flush. Konig Dial-ins with Hankook 205-50-15s. New rotors and pads up front. Royal Purple in the engine and trans..

The saga will continue...... ( roll credits )

Few days later I got another chance to tinker on 'Noir'. So we installed the rear Tougerun flaps. The relay, fuse link and switch for the rear defroster. And some extra HP via SpinnyWhoosh.

The stock-pile of parts was shrinking until this came.

Which made the pile look like this.

Now I have to figure out just when I'm gonna burn those four carry-over vacation days from 2015.

Glad you made a build thread, look forward to the progress and hoarded parts getting installed!

    Thanks Chad (GM2K)!

Over New Years I read through your entire build post in one evening (my retinas are still recovering). You were really bored four days before my birthday when you started it! A lot of 06-01 posts there. Cut and paste is fun though, right?

I just got everybody up to date with the last post. And there is another package due in tomorrow. Hopefully soon I get to do the grand stiffening install.

If you ever want to get rid of those tails........

    And this came today.

Vacation time to go into work? But I'll be working on Noir, at my own pace and can ignore everyone else completely. Sounds like win, win, WIN!

There might be parts installed tomorrow. And it's because I am covering a counter workers words with my Saturday-off actions. Then it is Noir time, possibly!

So went in and finished the F-250 job then had a little time to play with Noir and a lift. These came out...

Not really mounts just resting places for the engine when it's doing nothing as they were in pieces. I knew that BRP run trashed them. So in go these....

Wow, now when I grab the shifter third is where I left her. Not hiding in the glovebox or run off to lunch somewhere.

NOTE: If you are going for a nice quiet retro build I do not recommend these mounts. However if you want to take the red pill and jump into the rabbit hole. Perfect mounts!

Now I have a reason to leave the radio off. Noir has a growl in the cockpit. And we don't need no stinking tach. I feel every little movement that is happening under the hood. I know that in 500 to 1000 miles they break-in. I hope nothing changes, much!

Now to get my lazy arse out here and see what I might get put on in the driveway...

Good work sir! I have only started Warbird with the AWR urethane motor mounts but i love them too and hope they don't lessen much as far as vibration!

With the hardtop on those mounts turn your cockpit into a huge sub-woofer. Was jealous of your exhaust build-up but I think the mounts gave Noir a deep enough tone for now.

Very short clip in the driver's seat in the driveway. The shakes are not the DT's cause I had a beverage.
