On another note, I'm surprised the flares work so well with the pitcrew front. And on the hardtop side of things, the Helmut is very unique and makes it even harder to tell that it's a Mx-5! How much do mazdaspeed tops usually go for James? (without the scoop) Perhaps I'll have to go on a roadtrip to the UK if it's not to expensive!
Well I hope its better then being a Manchester United fan!

I am pleased how the flares turned out. Like you I like the Jubirides on my other roadster and think they are the best of the smaller arches. However was a risk on the pitcrew as not seen one with them before. The Helmut hardtop is super light but I think only works on a fairly modified roadster and needs a shorty bumper to blend with the hardtops stouter rear.

Mazdaspeed hardtop is also lightweight but less so. I sold my last one for £350 while the only 'vented' version I've seem in the UK sold for approx £400 on ebay last summer.

That's cheap! Perhaps you'll have to store on for me if I find one!

Manchester United has been a sad story lately hopefully that'll change.

James, if you come over a mazdaspeed hardtop (without scoop) and remember me, please do give a shout, I've searched a bit and found out you sold a silver one not long ago!

Few updates on the black s limited Pitcrew.

I got the Alterna Racing trunk lid painted and fitted plus also the Kanspo hard top painted and re fitted to the car.

I like the Kanspo hard top, very marmite but is very light weight, probably the lightest of the hard tops I have come across. This is the 2nd as the other is on the Corns roadster. In Japan these are used by a lot of the circuit racer as they are light weight.

You can also just about make out the Zoom Engineering orange side markers now fitted.

Also got some s limited roadster mats.

Thanks Andy. I got these for £55 which I thought was a fair price as seen them for sale between £50 to £65. Didn't know these were R2-Limited mats just bought them was wanted red roadster mats as mine were missing.

The seller I found wanted £85, with the driver's side worn out. Offered £45 plus post, or £60 on the spot if he could make Brooklands. Apparently that wasn't enough. Stupid price.

If you are looking for S-Limited mats, they look like the earlier S-Spec/S-Package mats that had the diagonal high/low pile, but were in a deep red colour, with just a simple metal "Roadster" badge. The MX5OC national rallys now tend to have quite large autojumbles. It would be nice to be able to get replicas made up as its stupid buying mats that are too precious to use (to protect a precious red carpet).

I'll have to be content with the black S-Spec mats I have in right now.

Some things go for mental prices, such as a set of Runabout Mini mirrors that sold for over £100, despite the fact you can get them brand new for a little over £40. Lunacy.

Yeah there is probably a market for someone like Autolink getting some mats made up as sure demand would be regular enough. The chequered mats make silly money and I recently sold some black roadster mats for £20 and could have sold them 3x over.

Few more updates on the black roadster.

Met with a mate this morning for a long chat putting the world to rights and while at his a cheeky photo shot.

Yesterday these turned up from Japan. Zoom Engineering Door pockets and door pulls. Allowed me to do away with the 3 hole door pull that come with the s limited door cards as standard.

Having got myself to a position recently where my house was turning into mx5 seat city I am now just down to 1 set of seats not fitted in a mx5 (from 3 sets) and now have a set of red leather s1 Elise seats in the black roadster.

the Pitcrew looks pretty good. I think exterior wise it doesn't need anymore. I would like to see a clean engine bay and more interior goodies. So far I love the outcome of this car.

Thanks agree with you. Only change I make to exterior is when funds allow I fit the pitcrew rear conversion I've got. However I'm not in a rush to do this as like the rear set up at the moment. Agree it needs some more interior goodies but probably be limited to a zoom or kg works interior mirror, different centre console (thinking red nakamae vintage carpet console), possibly a chrome diagonal style bar like the 60's racers and that's about it. (Though I'd welcome suggestions). Engine wise got a de badged (smoothed) red cam cover to fit but want to replace a few more hoses, degrease it a bit more (and still thinking of fitting some massively wild cams).
