    RE-Amemiya Japan

    RE Amemiya Car Co Ltd

RE-Amemiya is an automotive tuning company from Chiba, Chiba Prefecture, Japan founded by Isami Amemiya. Amemiya has made a name for himself tuning rotary engines since 1974 and has become a pioneer in tuning rotary-powered Mazdas. Thirty years later, first on the street and later in the Super GT series, Amemiya has left its mark in the tuning and motorsports worlds for rotaries.

    Super GT RE Amemiya RX-7
In addition to competing in tuner events, in 1995 his company RE Amemiya (RE for Rotary Engine) began its participation as the lone rotary entry in the Super GT series with a 3-rotor 20B-powered Mazda RX-7 in the GT300 class.[1] This car was featured in Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 4, Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo 6.

In 2006 the team was rewarded when they captured the class championship. The company also have competed in the D1 Grand Prix drifting series since 2004. For their second year of competition (2005), their driver Masao Suenaga, scored a sole victory at Fuji Speedway, but finished as runner up overall in the Grand Prix, losing by just one point to Yasuyuki Kazama.[citation needed]

RE Amemiya's cars are often featured on the Japanese show Hot Version. Hot Version often shows Keiichi Tsuchiya and other professional drivers competing in Touge events; these events are run in a cat and mouse fashion, much like the form of racing seen in the Initial D franchise. RE Amemiya's RX-7 often battles with the AmuseS2000, the J's Racing S2000 and the MCR R34 GT-R. RE Amemiya's RX-7 held the title of Touge Monster from 2004 to 2007, when it went against J's Racing at the Touge GP 2007 event with a new blue FD3S RX-7 which had revised side-ports and a single aftermarket turbine setup; this car lost its title as the battle conditions were in the rain. The new machine was built after almost losing to Amuse's S2300 GT-1 with their boost-up turbine blue FD3S during Touge GP 2006. The company reclaimed its Touge title after winning against J's Racing's Honda S2000 in 2009 with their green FD3S. Thus far, RE Amemiya has won the Touge Monster title three times, each with a different car.

Here is a recent photo from the Tokyo Auto Salon 2015 where they are showing off another Rotary Swapped Miata. Some wild body upgrades to the front as well!

This Miata looks like an RX7, NC, Porsche, etc from this angle?

Motor Swap to Rotary power (they have done this on several miatas in the past.

Looks more RX7 FD from this angle

Love that new NC rotary demo car. RE-Amemiya have a long history of making really cool concept and demo cars. I'd rather hack up a relatively new NC than modify one of the few rare FD3S left remaining.

Had a couple of FD RX7s though would never have another. Last was a full genuine RE Amemiya wide arch kit with a single turbo bridge ported engine.

    Running.

I like the look of the rotary Mazdas but have a deep hatred for rotary engines after the last experience so washed my hands of them.

Are you guys sure that blue demo car is an NC? The lines look more NB to me, especially the side mirrors and windshield surround.

I've wondered if you could do this with NB side mirrors since I saw their car in Hot Version some time ago

what I meant was I was wondering, if you could place oem NB mirrors in the same spot on the NB's fenders like RE Amemiya did with the mirrors on madabout's FD

The mirrors on my old black FD were part of the RE Amemiya kit. They are/were a bit marmite (UK expression for a food that people love or hate). Very rare part but the car came imported from Japan with the kit fitted so I kept them. A funky part for me was they were still electric in the adjustment of the mirror!

My first Pitcrew had some bullet mirrors on the fenders like this but I didn't like it so changed it back.

Amemiya is definitely one of my favorite tuners. They consistently do very well on Hot Version Touge challenges.

Them and RS Aizawa can both make some fantastic handling cars.

Definitely an NB. Is that a custom hardtop too? I see double bubble.

Yep. Finely balanced machines rock my socks.

I'd love to take my dream miata to Touge 200 and get Tsuchiya san to drive it and tell me how awesome it is. lol
