Removed my seatbelts to send in and have new webbing & vintage buckles/tongue installed. Will take about two weeks before getting back from the seatbelt company. I'm also having black webbing installed instead of tan, because tan gets too dirty looking.

The buckles will be the vintage, chrome, lift-latch style. Installing new buckles also requires new tongues to be fitted appropriate to the buckles as well. I'm opting not to have the buckle webbing covered in stiff plastic, which they offered so that the buckle sticks up and is easy to grab when not in use. Miata buckles are attached to a stiff cable or plastic-housed webbing of some sort so that the buckles don't flop down between the seat and center tunnel. If you're old enough to recall, floppy buckle webbing in older cars usually required you to dig for the buckles between the seat and seat back or between the seats and doors/tunnels. Even though the older style floppy buckles may be annoying, I've lived long enough to have grown up with it and gotten used to it, plus I really just wanted a vintage look. I'll be covering the webbing with a leather sleeve anyway to eliminate some of the slop if it gets to prove to be too annoying.

What service are you using for the seat belts? I LOVE the old lift latch type buckles!

No, it'll be a three-point belt which utilizes the stock retractors. Basically, I have to remove my retractors/belts, send them in to the company, and they replace the webbing and install new tongues. The buckle belt is basically a new unit, so I don't have to send the old ones in. I had the old belt packed and ready to ship, and I just found out that I have to have my credit-card balance eliminated in order for my home refi to go through, so now I have to wait before sending in my belts because I need to carry a zero balance for the next couple of months. Very frustrating. Oh, and to answer the other question, the company I'm using is Seatbeltplanet.

Oh, they look fantastic and price is totally reasonable! I am thinking that the shoulder loop extension might be extremely handy on a Miata, especially with a rollbar... Do you know if they can make this on a custom length?
