    205's on a 15x9?

So I recently came across an awesome deal on some Ra1 seconds and I plan on autocrossing this set out and possibly even 1 more set. So what I am trying to figure out is if I run these on a 15x9, will I lose a lot of performance with the stretch? Right now I am wheel-less for my competition tires so I will be purchasing some wheels in the near future in either 15x8 or 15x9. At first I was going to go with 15x8 because I can run my 205s perfect and when I can afford them I can move up to 225s. However since by the time I move up to 225s, I will be truly trying to compete, I am thinking about just getting 15x9's and being done with it since they perform the best on 225s. But like I said, i am worried that going with 15x9s will jeopardize my current performance for possible future performance. Anyone have any experience with 205s on 15x9's?

no the 205 is not bad on a 9 inch especially an ra1 that would fit good in my opinion.

    here are my pictures of a 205/50/15 on a 15x9 +36 with a 20mm spacer.

if you look over on miataturbo.net they have a 15x10 thread and there is a guy running the r888 in a 205/50 on the 10 inch and it is stretched less than my all season on my 9 inch.
i will be looking at getting a little bit wider of a 205/50 but they look good on the 9 inch and if you get that tire im sure its wide enough to be barely stretched which would be good .

same theory as the 225/ on the 9 being stretched a little.

The ra1 will probably run even wider than those p4's posted above.

Yea even a nitto neogen will run fatter.

I will most likely run the p4s until they need replaced then get something more grippy bow that I have two wheel sets.

But I see no problem with a 205 on a 9 inch it's not that bad of a stretch if any at all with a ra1

You shouldn't lose much performance. Think about how much of a contact patch will be differing all of 2cm per wheel, so that a total of 8cm all around. That isn't too much to affect you at an entry level IMO.

I say give it a try. The 205/50 Ra1 already fills a x7 pretty well.

Well I ended up getting a set of 15x9's a lot earlier than expected. However, I believe i am going to now run the 15x9's as my street tire and use run my RA1's on my 15x7.
So, for street use. DZ101's or S Drives? (205/50)
I was going to go with star specs but since they will be street only, I want a little more tread wear.

I picked up some 15x9 6ul's and have been on the fence if I want to keep them so I decided to mount up 1 tire to see the amount of stretch (I'm not really wanting stretch).

Here is how much my tires stretched on a 15x9

    That's not bad at all.

I wonder how well a neogen would sit on a 15x9
