    Shudder when releasing clutch...?

If I release the clutch in first and then gas it it's relatively smooth but if I feather on the gas as I release the clutch I get a shaking shudder. Does this sound like a clutch issue or maybe a broken engine mount?

I had a similar issue with my S2000 before and it was the engine mount.

How many miles on the engine mount? RSpeed upgraded mounts are on sale $77.00 I just bought a set.

Well if you haven't change the mounts that is a good place to start. I remember in my S2000 was both in 1st gear if I feather it and sometimes 2nd if I still don't put enough gas. BTW my 95 that I am doing as a project has a little over 80K on it and when I took the engine out the exhaust side mount was rotten and in two pieces. So I won't be surprise if yours needs replacement.

It's most likely the engine mounts as I have the same problem now. But don't rule out the pilot bearing, spigot bearing, or u-joints. About a year ago I had the nasty clutch shudder, I found out that my clutch/tranny bearings were shot. Hopefully you just need new engine mounts.
